Wireless network printer setup help

OK - so I am helping my dad setup his wireless printer over the phone. (He's in FL, and I'm in NJ) Not an easy task, especially when the Lexmark install process switches over to Hungarian about half-way through the setup process!! (Long story...)

Anyway - I have a basic question regarding this -- my dad's computer is connected to a wireless router via an ethernet cable, and not a wireless card. It seems that the setup process requires a wireless card in the PC which is doing the initial setup.

Can anyone confirm this?

If that is the case, I can probably get the help of my sister who lives near my folks and who has a laptop with wireless...

Edit: Wireless router is a Belkin, and the printer is a Lexmark.

Thanks,
-Z
