Car stereo question: (speakers)

I acquired a car that has a speaker box in the trunk with a couple sub-woofers(?) in it. Since I'm old/white, I have no desire to keep these. Can someone give me an idea of how much I should ask for this deal on CL? I have absolutely no idea.

I forgot to measure the speakers, I can do that and add the info if necessary. Here is a picture of box, still in trunk:

TIA as always!

Do you have the amp that drives them? Search Tempest showed from under 100 to under 300 and some buy it now at 269 + ship, blah blah.

I think Infinity makes some decent subs but I don't what what model you have there or how much they are worth. While two subs of that size is probably overkill for the casual listener, a sub can really improve the audio in your car if you fancy yourslef someone who likes music (who doesn't?). There is obviously a amplifier powering them and if the install is decent, you might just want to leave the wiring, the amp, and keep one of the subs. The box they are in looks like a POS ported box. If you want to keep just one sub, you could EASILY build yourself a sealed box that would be less than 50% of that size, tuck it away in the trunk, and enjoy a little more low end to your music. Just a thought...

Well, I just had a young guy look at these, (security guard on movie set), he went, "whooaaa, that's a nice box!" and told me that those Infinity speakers are very expensive. Now I'm really confused...

Need to find model number and research further.

Component Subwoofers at Crutchfield.com

Looks similar to the latest run of the mill infinity.... Not that expensive new. I believe those are 12" subs....

That box would make really good kindling... Who leaves fastener exposed? Mine was sealed with glue..... sealed with bondo on the outside to make it PERFECTLY SMOOTH and then siliconed on the inside. I then went and had it Line-xd..... No air got out. It didn't cost that much more to do it right and it was soooo nice.

I think at best I could have gotten $200 out of that setup but it wasn't the top of the line Sony stuff..... I got tired of looking at it in the Porsche and had moved it to my Corrado..... I just left it in the Corrado when I sold it...

The answer is "Not much", but maybe if you unscrew one of those speakers and find a model number that will at least let ya know where they started.

The only thing with worse resale value than cars is - car stereos.

They are model 1020w 10" subwoofers. I may or may not even try to sell them, not worth my time right now. (Busy summer).
