I don't think it is a BP-specific problem, they just happened to be the oil company involved.

Whatever politicians want me to do, I'll do the opposite, even if it costs a little more.

I agree with jyl... This is an industry wide issue. BP is just the unlucky one that had the SHTF.

I'll continue pouring Castrol in my car...

That boycott would hurt so many working people, wouldn't do anything to help anyone.

We should askthe political dipsheets if we should boycott airlines when theirs an air disaster. Or Amtrak when there's a train derailment. Or highways when theirs a car wreck. What a bunch of idiots.

The lack of knewledge being displayed around this thing from the Gulf residences all the way to Obama is just unreal. The media magnifies it.

I think the right thing to do would be to continue supporting them as long as they are making an effort to do something. To bail on them now although highly doubtful that it would happen could cause bankruptcy (!) and allow them to just walk away. As long as the company is somewhat profitable (again !) and continuing clean up efforts why boycott.

I would not boycott them- they are a company that produces value in this world- including a lot of US jobs.

Obviously if they were to (very unlikely) shirk their responsibility to clean up the spill, then that would be another issue.

I am behind them 100% at this point, and am embarrased for the politicians that are pandering by criticising them right now.

They all drill, BP was the lucky winner that had an accident. Buy a bicycle or walk if you want to make a statement. I'll wave as I drive by in my A/C'd car.

The problem is that the regular idiots get all excited about these stupid ideas and think that the politicians are super.

If you want to boycott, not that I think they are effective, then do it to Conoco. They are Hugo Chavez boys.

At the onset, someone interviewed someone who, when asked who is at fault, replied "everyone who drives a car". Well played.
