Getting some more work done this Labor Day weekend. The bar, trim. and siding is all cedar. We were going to put up hardyboard and then paint, but decided the cedar gives a more rustic look.

He's using a ledger. There should be three nails under each joist in the ledger. For a deck 6" of the ground, it's six of one and a half dozen of other.
Using treated wood against masonry is code though. Keeps the termites at bay... BRPORSCHE, What are you using to keep water out from above? Quote:
