Thinking of going to Pikes Peak- advice?
Rumor has it that this is the last year of the combination of asphalt and paved sections of the hill climb. So worth going to enjoy the action. What is the best place to park and view from ? From the site, they suggest the ski area for parking, but a hike to where you can see. Then perhaps Glen Cove area as there is dirt below and asphalt above that parking area.
Advice from those that have attended? Thanks! Dave

bring a raincoat, waterproof yer camera, lenz covers for the dust, small set of binos. or get there early park car where ever and camp out. its a very big mtn.
watch out for snow(possible) and lightning. water and beer would be smart. water cuz the critters pee in the streams and i know for a fact unless GOGAR has changed things...............the COORS truck does not deliver at that elevation. |
