That Panamera Turbo, it must be said, comes closer to the elusive ideal of a four-door sports car. The Porsche is not only faster and sharper-handling than the Rapide, but it is more practical, with a far roomier back seat and cargo hold.

Yeah, I'd say so.

No question which is the most aesthetically pleasing...but then, Aston Martins have always been sexier than Porsches. Nice to see some consistency, yes?

Which do you prefer:

Form follows Function

or

Function Follows Form?

With 200,000 burning a hole in my pocket I'd take a GT3-RS and a 5 Series BMW over either of the "4-door sports cars."

If I wanted a car with absolutely useless back seats I'd buy an early 911.

The Aston Martin puts the Panamera to absolute shame in the looks department.

I got the chance to see a Panamera and a Quattroporte side by side today. It's difficult to articulate, but the Porsche just didn't have the presence that QP possessed. They had almost identical gimmicky features, but the execution was smoother on the Maserati. It almost made the Panamera feel cheap which is odd given that their MSRP's are pretty close.

The Quattroporte is in an entirely different league than the Panamera style wise, IMO.

The new lambo is at least as ugly as the panamera.

I don't think the Panamera is a particularly ugly car (Seriously have you seen the feces GM and Ford are putting out?), but yeah, it's just not even close to a Maserati in looks or execution.

Honestly, i would much, much, much rather have one of the new Cadillac or Lincoln performance models than a Panamera.

The CTS-V is also way less money.

I would LOVE to see a 928 retrofitted with a Panamera Turbo engine though.

It's even more expensive when you have to buy three Astons. one to drive while the other two are in the shop. It is British after all.

Looks are great if impressing the shallow is all you care about.

I'd prefer to be thought about as being wise and making smart choices.

The Porsche is the only true four door sedan of the lot. The Aston, Lambo, and Maserati are no more than four door coupes. Why bother?

I test drove a 1st gen CTS-V for a friend looking for a new car. It was only a couple years old, owned by an older gentleman and it was still a total ragged out piece-o-crap. He ended up buying an even older M3 that held up much better.

I agree Aston Martins are much better looking but like others wrote, form follows function.

A 4600 lb, gas guzzling, 4 passenger 4 door sedan that does 0-60 in 4.5 seconds and 180 mph isn't very functional in the US.

Or, not any more functional than say a BMW 550i or MB E550, etc. (or other far less expensive 4 door sedans).

And have you seen the interior, with it's million little switches as dictated by the marketing dept.?

Arguing that a Panamera Turbo is a "form follows function" vehicle is laughable. It's a big, fat, overweight and overpriced gold chain on wheels.
