For those of you in the eastern US (or anywhere else for that matter), I can't recommend Chip Bond at GT-Classics highly enough. GT Classics, LLC
John is correct they are simple cars but I guess I'm simpler. I don't have John's skills as a mechanic and for me Chip has been the go to guy to keep mine running.

A dream comes true!

Tomorrow I take delivery of a Super Seven![img]

Sadly, that means the 911 has to go.

If I was a rich man, with a 2 car garage and more time to drive my cars I would keep them both.

A caterham is such a rare animal in Canada and the opportunity to try something new was too much to resist.

Here she is:

cars are so rare in canada, you grab what you can get. Also the condition is very nice.

Canadian import rules are draconian

You´ll love it Twobone. True seat of the pants motoring. Just one issue to be aware of with the starter motor. They can sometimes stick when warm due to the proximity to the exhaust. After a long drive they can refuse to restart till cooled down. I found a slight tap from a wrench helped

Heres a link to what i´m talking about.

http://www.alcester-racing-sevens.com/starter_maintenance.htm

I would recommend the cars to anyone.

I've been lusting after a 7 of some sort for quite some time. Ultimately I'd like to have a Porsche of some sort and a 7 of some sort.

Back when I still had my 911, I saw 7 pulling into a Starbucks on the opposite side of the road. I told my wife "hang on" and hung a hard U-turn. I parked and started walking around looking at it so the guy came back out. He was meeting another buddy with another 7 there. They both also had Esprits (one a 4cyl turbo and one a V-8). His was a '73 Lotus with a late model Toyota engine. I was drooling.

One of these days....

Newkurt...that is the ultimate minimalist 7 I've ever seen. Beautiful and absolutely nothing superfluous.

Weight?

Build your own for less than $6000

Then load it down with slicks and drive it to a two day autocross...(and get caught in rain).

Bothe cute videos

That picture makes me think of...

John Ford.

I love those cars and would love to have one, the Lotus RX-7 is pretty all right.

For the second Alpine 500 there was a couple in a '61 Lotus 7, guy was a Mazda team wrench, and his girlfriend. Had a motor out of a later wrecked Lotus Cortina, maybe the front brakes off it too, can't really remember as I was more than somewhat in the bag when he told me about it. This on a run from Sacramento to Cal Neva, taking the scenic route, lunch at Kirkwood, South of Tahoe, portions of the Death Ride actually, North to Reno up Mt Rose Hwy to Tahoe. It was the last week of April, snow in an open car with no windshield on a Saturday afternoon. They got married later that evening. The next morning at the Strawberry Lodge, we gave her some ski gloves as a wedding present.

That car was rough, seat was bare aluminum with a seat belt, but brutally quick. Just vanished, we were in an '84 Carrera Cab, my brother driving, hour before we hit falling snow.dropped a few gears, got the jump on him. See his wife grab her hat as we pulled even, then he just ran away from us.

I guess what they say is true, "There is no replacement for lightness."

We got him when we crested the summit with him nowhere in sight, not even a dot. A windshield, windows that roll up, a heater and one less female passenger all worked in our favor when the sleet and snow started and we got them on the down hill.

We hand just gotten our drinks and a spot by the fire when they walked in, She joined us right away and her soon to be husband got their drinks. Her hands pinked right up after initially being a startling shade of blue and cold as a cadaver in a cooler.
