Why no outrage at GM/Chrysler recalls?

I just heard GM is recalling more vehicles due to a fire hazard. Last week, Chrysler recalled Caravans and Jeeps.

How come nobody is going crazy like when Toyota had theirs?

Do you know how many PPOT threads start out "Why no outrage at...?" I guess there's just so much outrage energy a person can manage in their lifetimes without grenading. Think of the mess it would leave on PC monitors throughout the world? And who will come along behind us to clean up? No, I think the outrage must be replaced by serenity. Serenity now. SERENITY NOW, DAMNIT!!!

Looks like my truck is in the recall. I think I've used my heated windshield washers twice so it's no big loss and I get $100 back.

Chrysler recalled a whole bunch of vehicles due to ... get this ... sticking gas pedals.
The pedals in question were made by the same Canadian company that made the sticking gas pedals that were recalled by Toyota.

Toyota had sticking gas pedals, it was all over the front page news for weeks. OUTRAGE!
Chrysler had the same problem with the same part, no mention.

Now here's the sticky part (punny), since these pedals were made by the same company as the ones from the Toyota, and they used the same fly by wire technology and same design, why didn't Chrysler recall them way back then? they had to know about them, they had to know there was a problem with them, yet no news at all. This should be all over 60 minutes, CNN, MSNBC, but no.

As far as lib hypocrites are concerned, Toyota is evil and GM/Chrysler can do no wrong.

No Sammy, its because you don't inform yourself more. The Chrysler's have a brake over ride system unlike the evil Toyota big corp. I still can't believe you lemmings that just love Toyota and think they really care about you and not profit.

No surprise... Not the first time American cars have started spontaneously combusting and burning houses and killing families.... Can you say Ford?

Funny how there is no mention of Porsches recalls, like every Panamera ever made for seat belts. Porsche never makes mistakes, besides 914, 924, lol. I've seen more porsches burn (914's) than any other car.

Here you go kid...1986 944 recalls...hope your car doesn't have an engine fire, burning your house & killing your family... (edit) The ONLY car I've had that suffered an engine fire? A 1970 T...malfunctioning mickey-mouse designed cold start system. I had it disabled...insane design that had squirter tubes installed in a plastic air cleaner housing...

Business as usual...

I also read on msn somewhere that Ford was doing a recall for a sticky pedal. Probably the same part Toyota used too.
