I'll find out later who did the install and post it.
What's that red thing hanging down from your overhead beams? Is that for mosquitoes?

i still like the light, but having control of how much and when is important |

I chose the Optiview in the link you posted. It's a Fesnel lense (like lighthouse lenses) and is brighter than the Vusion model. I'm glad you posted that link because I wasn't aware of the effect lenses that can be used with either diffuser to warm (more incandescent light-like) and/or soften the light. I just called my salesman and the installer will have them all on his truck, so I can check them all out (they're cheap - $16 and just slip up into the tube before the difuser is put on). Another thing, that I didn't mention, is the fact that the diffuser I've chosen casts a subtle spectrum which might be bothersome, but the effect lenses kill that effect and the loss of light is supposedly negligable. Installer's due @ 2:00 - should be fun to dial in the sun. ![]() ![]()

I just talked to a tech. at Solatube who claims there's no hue change, it's just reflected sky light. I agree with you that it's certainly whiter/hotter looking and after seeing it installed suspect that I may buy the Warm Effect Lens, which is a filter that yellows the light.
Damn, yer persnickety! ![]()

Thinking about them for my hallways which are dark. I have an attic above the areas that I'd install with about a 10 foot rise from the ceiling through the attic to the tile roof. I'll consider them when I re-roof which is sooner than later. Enjoyed the feedback from those who have them.
