Ramjets? Are you talking about a "pulse jet"? Those don't have a throttle control. This jet, and most like it, are turbines...

They have a single turbine ready to fly for about $20,000...

The low end stuff, which is what I can afford, is about $5000....

Every year they have a jet meet at woodley park here in the van nuys area. Some of the detail lengths these guys go to is unreal.

Actually the engines in the REAL SR-71 were hybrid turbine/ramjet engines. The starter "motor" was a pair of Buick Nailheads hooked up in tandem and mounted on a cart.

There is an event the weekend of July 23rd.

I used to get pretty nervous flying around my $100 four star 40 size r/c airplane, I can't imagine putting that thing in the air. You auger that thing in and you are out a ton of cash...

Looks like he has been working on that project for about 8 years.

That is a cool model and I applaud the guy's dedication and skills, but I got real bored after watching it fly in a circle for the twentieth time, doesn't seem all that fun.

How bout this one, a reeeeely big RC B-29? Over 18 foot wingspan and almost 500 pounds.

This is pretty cool, an F-16 fighter. Great sound, pretty good stunt flying. Like being at an airshow
