91 year old granny put 562,000 miles on her car
LOL, this 91 year old lady is the original owner of a 1964 Mercury comet caliente, and she's put over 562,000 miles on it.
She gets the lifetime replacement guaranty on everything and she's gotten 3 free sets of shocks, several mufflers, and 18 free batteries IIRC. She says there is no way to hold the car back to just 55 mph, and has had the car up to 120 mph. How the heck has she kept it from rusting away in Minnesota? Great story although it's been around the net for a while.

Like she said...TLC kept it running.
But of course, a well set up 944 would blow it's doors off in the twisties.

'Cause just 6 months ago she only had 561,000 on it...

Does she live in Florida or Wisconsin?
Maybe that's where that 1000 mile difference came from? |

I bet she changes the oil every 3000 to 5000 miles!

I was impressed at first but after reading the article it appears that she has driven that distance over a number of years. I though she had done it all at one time.

Maintain most cars and they'll last forever.
Most people are too lazy and treat their cars as throwaway appliances - and the auto industry naturally does nothing to discourage this.
