bug bite spread?
 

I got these bites that itch like crazy. So, I go and scratch. Now the bumps are spreading and I am going nuts. I can't freaking sleep. I have never had a bug bite spread like it before, or spread at all. I stop scratching since the afternoon and it stop spreading. Try over the counter stop itch meds, but it aint working.

do bug bite spread when yo break the surface of the skin? If any one know of another way to stop itch, let me know. Pleeease.

Stop scratching!!! Sounds more like poison ivy/oak than a bug bite! Go to the druggist and get some TECNU. Follow instructions on the bottle. Get a package that has CalaGel packed with it.

IF this is poison ivy/oak you are only spreading the chemical burn. You need to stop scratching, change clothes (wash them separate from other clothes), and stay in a cool environment. Best of luck! I have the same thing right now and have missed the last three days of work (90% coverage).

I have not been outside but did a little painting and clean up the yard. This was 2 days ago. There are no poison ivy or oak on our little property. Did you go to the doc?

Bug bites don't spread. Poison oak and poison ivy do. Reread the advice from David... or go see a doctor.

Had to reread your post now. I flew to mylocal 24 hour drug store way on the other side of earth to get Tec Nu. I think is working a bit so far, but it doesn't really stop it completely. Problem is I start scratching when I am dead asleep sometime. now it spread a bit more then I like on my legs. This is my first time and It is bad $hit. Holy $hit, 90%? What's this Gala Gel stuff? They did not have any. How long does the Tec Nu stop itch. How many day have you had it?

I find that Ivy Dry works much better. I usually manage to get poison ivy at least once a year doing yard work and Ivy Dry clears it up the quickest of any product that I have tried.

Ivy over the counter? You must know what it looks like, so you treat it right away before it gets out of hand. scratching feels so damn good after 2 days of hands off. I know I got to stop.

Stay cool, warm and humid environments make it itch more.

There are prescription topical steroids if it gets real bad. I had to go that route after getting a nasty case of poison sumac. That was purely miserable.

I have had good luck with bleach.

I used to get it every summer. My doctor asked me if I knew what the hell it looked like.

Caladryl Clear works for me. Calamine lotion with Benadryl. There are other treatments but you just have to tough it out. Some people use an oatmeal rub or rub a raw potato on it but that never worked for me. Put some socks on your hands.

Chigger bites? I have had them like that before where more seem to show up after the first day or so. Not sure how that works, but my understanding is that they inject a poison that breaks down the skin, and then they leave. Then, the breaking down of the skin is what makes it itch so bad.

I have had 50-60 bites on each leg (foot to knee), two or three times, and I thought I was going to die. Honestly, probably the closest thing to being driven insane that I have ever experienced!

Gotta tough it out, but in the mean time, benadryl (both orally and topically) is what I used to adjust the itching from a 10 to a 9.5!!!

One time I got bitten/attacked by a million fire ants. I found that by spraying the hottest water I could handle would relieve the itch for a while. The heat brings the histamine to the surface and the water rinses it away. Doing the hot water thing and taking Benedryl every 4 hours helped me get through it without going insane from the itching.
If it gets too bad, see a doctor. They'll give you and oral steroid to clear it up quick.

Poison Ivy doesn't spread after you've showered. What may happen is that you may get it one skin on different areas of your body, the skin is different, and it takes longer to manifest the symptoms in different areas. Poison Ivy has an oil that causes the cell walls to break down. Once you've washed the oil off of your skin and hands, it won't spread until you come into contact with it again.

Just a thought, maybe seem a doctor or dermatologist.

Ive been bit by an assassin bug a few times. Evidently I am allergic. Put me at emergency once. I spray but it happens every so often. Benedyl is my best friend.

I have had almost every itch med on my table by this afternoon. I must have burned over a hundred bucks. Some are a bit better then others. IVYDRY is the $hit. I searched from here to Mexico for it and thank god, I found it. It did away with he itch for an hour now, and I am feeling better but it does not work for my wife. Thank all of you so much for the tips. Eating Benedryl for tonight.

Man, this itch is a real ass kicker. I have never experience itch like it and some of you get it every year, holy $hit.
