A gulf oil spill counter...seriously?

I was just on CNN.com and they now have a "barrels of oil spilled" rolling counter running on their home page.

A hundred thousand barrels one way or the other isn't going to make a difference at this point. It's already a total mess. Anyone else find this absurd?

Yay for the news.

That's almost 3 hours of the total daily U.S. demand for oil.

Totally ridiculous. I watched AC360 regularly before the spill. He started getting extremely dramatic during the " Crisis in Haiti" and this spill has become annoying to watch on CNN in general. I was enraged when they kept suggesting people continue to buy seafood from the Gulf when they were also complaining about the chemical dispersant being used in the water. I dont think most people understand WTF benzene is and how it can end up in your belly..

I don't understand why they don't throw a wedding ring over the damn hole. It's sure to quit putting out after that.
