some jackass almost killed me this morning.

i was on the road by 5:00am. early..nobody out there. i get to this huge section..FIVE LANES WIDE! very little traffic. i am in the middle lane. i look into my rearview..and i literally "see a boogie".. bright headlights,,coming FAST! i was going 75-80..this benz was doing over 100. he is in the fast lane coming super fast. i stay put in the middle lane. as he passes me, he start changing lanes into me. for no reason, he crosses in front of me by a mere 2-3 feet! his momentum and trajectory puts him all the way into the #5 (slow lane) where he blast thru slow moving traffic.

i was hoping to see him pulled over by cops ahead of me..but no. no bonus crash either. man, if he had clipped me at that speed, i would have flipped him, myself..

what a dcik!

He probably thought he was driving appropriately for the road and traffic conditions

At least you didn't get rear ended at 70mph by an 18 wheeler in rush hour traffic like I did because he "didn't see me"......how can you NOT see a bright red 924s? Luckily he had a large flat aftermarket chrome front bumper and only pushed in my bumper shocks, car got REAL squirrely though and I saved it.....after I made him pull over we settled by my taking all the cash in his wallet to cover the cost of the bumper shocks (about $52).....

Glad you are Ok, this just happened the other day in upstate NY, I think it was late afternoon.

I have no sympathy for this type nor for those that intentionally drive recklessly. Happens all too frequently.

Always amazes me how some people just don't know how to drive,

Portland OR around 4PM I'm driving home from the airport in the rental car and some kid enters the freeway in his hoped up Honda. He slashes from the onramp across three open lanes and starts to broadside me... I'm in a Subaru forester... HOW CAN YOU NOT SEE ME? I lay on the horn and he backs off... and no wave or oops sorry look... he just proceeds to weave his way through traffic.

Isn't that a bit of a contradiction?

Anybody I pass is a slowpoke blocking traffic.

Anybody who passes me is a crazed speed demon.

I had a lady yesterday cut from the far left lane next to me without warning to reach the exit ramp without looking. I was able to jam on the brakes with inches to spare.

She was too busy yapping on the phone and looking at the GPS

Even better are the jacked up pickup trucks with no bumpers - or with old 4" water pipes welded to the bumper shocks to "make-a-bumper". Yep, those are safe. Especially on vehicles that have a CG about five feet off the ground.

Rednecks are the absolute worst. And of those, I think northern rednecks are the worst of that lot (I've had run-ins with southern rednecks and northern rednecks so I'm qualified to comment).

I've had my share of close encounters with the stupid kind. I drive a 1/2 truck mostly. It won't last forever although it's going on 20 years now under my foot. When I do replace it, I'm getting a bigger truck. Bigger means seen more easily AFAIC. I'm not sure what a diesel tractor rig gets in mileage w/o a trailer, but I'll bet it's not as bad as some think. If I had any balls, I'd buy an old Peterbuilt and drive it to the grocery store.

Cut across that, beotch!

You need an air horn on the truck. Trust me, folks wake the he!! up when they get a blast from my Peterbuilt.

It is most definately a different perspective from the cab of a big rig.

Braking quickly is NOT an attribute!!!

Oh yeah-people get REALLY nervous when you get close behind them at a light.
