But I need to fit the dog in the back! (That's also why the Bugatti won't work for me. :)) |
You made the proper choice...
(edit)....For you. In order to get Cindy to sign the title on the 911S I had to promise never another Porsche for me. I have no regrets that the 911S car is gone these days. But it's true, a Mustang is NOT a Porsche... No snob appeal with a Mustang. But don't kid yourself...both cars mentioned in the beginning post are destined to become sewer pipe or soda cans some day. Neither is a highly prized model, neither will become a chased after collectable. |
There will come a day when that plain jane mustang GT is worth 2-3x it's MSRP. (go price pretty much ANY mint condition 19xx mustang V8 and compare it to it's MSRP)
The porsche...not so much. |
KEEP YOUR FACTORY WIDE BODY!!!! It is too nice of a car to sell... Wish I'd known about it before buying the matching 914-6..

Can I sell you a 1995 Mustang for 2-3x its MSRP?? Back away from the pipe, son... |

IMO, you are more concerned with image and investing your identity in the car you drive than anyone I've ever seen. Give it a rest, for chrissakes... |

Didnt your parents ever tell you anything about being kind to your elders? Lets talk about cars... Joe A |
Joe... Dennis isn't the only one who has noticed that.... He's just the one who voices it... I like paul but I get tired of him pissing and moaning about the PCA or Porsche every chance he gets... Some of us still have a good PCA experience and would appreciate if bad press like this didn't kill our regions....
|
Never mind, will unsubscribe from the thread and you guys can act like 14 year old kids.
BTW, I happen to agree with those who have NOT had a good PCA experience. Was a member for almost 20 years and the ones I was exposed to was a "good old boys" club doing nothing but having whine and cheese and patting each other on the back. Bye! |
Do what you want Joe... I was just simply pointing out a fact...
Just saying not all regions are like that... If more were like OK the club wouldn't be getting such a bad rap... |
Hey Joe, I'm no kid myself. It's not merely a "PCA" issue, I've never belonged to or been to one of their events in my life.
As far as acting one's age, I think that hanging out on the OT section of the biggest Porsche BBS in the world talking schit about Porsches and the people who drive or like them is beyond juvenile. It's pathetic. The guy has issues. |
Just for grins, how about asking the same question on the mustang forum?
|
Everyone and anyone can have a Mustang. My wife had a nice black cab for years; no doubt nice cars. I played with one on the trans canada the other night, that was fun. The guy was a very aggressive driver and I hung around for about 15 minutes until I gave him nothing but tail lights.
My opinion, hands down would be the 997. That car is you. Forget practicality man; you're a pcar man/fan. Good luck, if you're in my woods stop over. Cheers, |

Love the turbo look, my cheque would be underway if it was a coupe. |
997, keep the wife happy........ Happy wife=happy life.
|
No wife=happy life, too.
|
Buy the car that keeps the wife happy, rent a storage garage, buy what you want, store it there and enjoy when you can:D A couple of lawyer buddies of mine have done this for their bikes. When I'm at my shop over there they drive up, 3 piece suits, change into riding gear, take off a few hours and come back, change back & head on..

It just has to get old enough, and the kids that drove them when they were new have to get old and rich enough. Quote:

Pick any 1960s V-8 mustang, and a mint example is easily worth 2-3x it's original MSRP, adjusted for inflation. Probably the same is true by now for all the V-8 powered early 70s models as well. (Ie mach 1's, Boss 302's, "el grande" convertibles, Cobra II's, etc, etc).
Given enough time, all mint or near mint condition V-8 Powered mustangs will eventually reach the 2-3x MSRP mark. |
