Yeah it sounds great from an outsider's perspective, but...
I bet after months and months and months it'd be "just work" though. It happens. |
You know, being a parent, stuff happens.
There was the day my son microwaved a muffin for 30 minutes and filled the house with smoke. There was the day, 1 month after my daughter got her license that I got a call: "Dad, I hit a mercedes". There was the day my mom let me drive her car and I backed it into a bollard. Stuff happens. |
I bumped the nose of my dad's 63 Split Window Corvette off of the fooseball table in the garage one day when i decided to start the car on my own, not knowing i had to hold the clutch in when cranking a stickshift engine over.
Whoops...fortunately, no paint or body damage, so dad never even knew. :D |
Crummy luck, inexperience, and inattention...&....maybe two people are responsible
While not nearly as expensive, at 16 I managed to crumple the rear end of a 65' K-code Mustang (w/ the pony interior) into the front of a beautiful 71 Monte Carlo that happened to belong to a Marine Corps drill instructor (Dad).... who had just reminded me to "watch out for the Monte Carlo parked behind you". I exited the Mustang as though it was on fire after witnessing the front screen door EXPLODING off of the front of the house. He didn't catch me, but it was close. I came home after about 3 hours. No insurance was involved on his car as I paid for it. I also paid for the deductible on my car. He had to know the body shop as his car was repaired in 'about' a week..........seems mine took 6 weeks to secure parts and find the time to fix it. Karl 88 Targa |
Saw the video. It's good Cheney WRITES. Maybe with a little more experience he can learn how to pronounce "Porsche" and "Mosport". LOL

One of my best friends from high school was showing off to this girl, doing donuts and drove his '76 chevy step-side through a fence at Toledo raceway park.
The truck had all kinds of damage; dents on the hood, scratches along the sides. He drove to my house; I was asleep. He parked in my driveway, and threw sticks at my second floor window trying to wake me. He wound up sleeping in my parents pool house. Why? Because when he came there, I was sound asleep. When I found out about it I was sad, and when I told my parents, they were sad as well, because we could have had had him in our guest room easily. I missed a chance to help a friend out. N! |
