Well if you look at the life of an actual wolf in the wild, their idea of "very well," is very different than a person's (or a lambs).

To be a wolf is to be an animal- or a person- who must frequently murder the weak to simply survive.

It clearly takes a certain type of mindset to be able to cope, let alone thrive, in such a situation. For someone with that sort of mindset, i suspect that living that sort of dog eat dog lifestyle would be far more realistic and tolerable than it is for someone who does not possess it.

Some people are just sheep. Today's civilization generally fosters and encourages a population of sheep. I suspect the vast majority of people would fail miserably if submitted to the scenarios in the movie you watched.

Next day, and the next, I re-read and digested it.

Movie, of course doesn't hold a candle to Cormac's construction. Just fantastic paragraphs, images, thoughts.

I didn't care for "The Road," but I really enjoyed reading "The Crossing."
I thought "No Country for Old Men" captured the feel of his writing very well for a movie.

NetFlix came today and I had to watch the movie. I enjoyed it, but mostly because I listened to the audio book. I think one should just read the book or listen to it. The movie alone won't give full impact.

In the book do they say it was a meteor that hit the planet? I didn't get that from the movie and when I went to the wikipedia page it said "unknown event." I did have to get up a few times while watching it so I thought I had missed something.

The causative agent is IMO irrelevant as it's the behavior of the survivors that creates the story.
