This car's claim to fame is that it is the world's fastest street car. They want to keep that.
Saying you are the second fastest doesn't quite ring as well. They've felt a few challenges but no one's beat them so far, and they want to keep it tat way. that's why the new and improved version hit 269.8 mph on a test track. Now if you bought one and tried to hit 269 mph in it, you'd probably kill yourself trying. If you did pull it off you'd have to replace the all tires and do lots of other maintenance afterward. just because it can does not mean it can do it easily, and does mean you should try it. But wouldn't it be cool to show up at Bonneville in a new showroom stock production car and break the records? |

The SSC Aero did beat them. That's one reason why they came up with the 1200hp Veyron.
