Best Glock I've Shot So Far
![]() Glock 35, This is the full size .40 cal with the longer slide. The controls are extended (mag and slide release) and the trigger is a crisp 4.5lbs. The long slide improves your sight picture and allows for faster follow up shots. There is a cutout on top of the slide only for weight distribution, it's not compensated. I have added night sights, 25 cent trigger job, and some homemade grip tape grips. The trigger job didn't make as much of a difference as it does on other Glocks because it comes with the competition trigger. All in all it's accurate and a blast to shoot. Recoil is a little bit less than a Gen 3 Glock 22 but still more than a Gen 4 Glock 22. ![]() ![]()

Glocks are superb duty pistols. I have been a Glock user since 1983. I have never had a malfunction with factory ammunition in over 75,000 rounds. I used to compete in IPSC in the stock gun classes and clean up. I have carried my original Glock 17 (serial number USA 001H) until it was stolen in 1999. I replaced it with a newer model 17 and added a Glock 20. Best combat semi-auto ever built.

While were waiting, I love my Glock, i have the 23 and find it to be perfect. I would like to get a full-size frame to add to the collection, undecided on going .40 again or drop down to 9mm

I have a G17 and a G26.
I'd still like to shoot a G18. I've also shot a G23C. Glocks fit my hand better than any other semi-auto, and I'm partial to the "crisp" trigger pull. I've been shooting 115 gr. FMJ target rounds for years. I'm going to see if I can improve my shooting at 25 yards with 147 gr. FMJ rounds...

Anybody have experience with a G21? I'm looking for a higher-cap .45 and this one is well within my price range.

I'm a dissenter. Never liked them, don't like shooting them. Once in a while I get curious, shoot a friend's Glock and then am reminded. Just not my cup of tea.

Rick, I am a former plastic gun hater but the more I shot them the more I appreciated them. Even though I love my 1911, if I could only take one pistol into battle it would be a Glock.

Oh, I definitely respect the design and build quality. I loved my SIG Pro 2340 too. It was SIG's feeble attempt to enter the plastic gun market. They never took it seriously enough, but they do have some nice ones. I may get a Glock for my wife one of these days. Scottsdale Gun Club was selling the Phoenix PD turn-ins for $299 a while back. At that price, they'd be good to have around the house as grab guns.

You Glock guys should try one of the Springfield Arms XD or XDm guns. VERY similar to a Glock. You might like them better. When I bought mine. I shot a bunch of guns. It came down to the Glock and the XD, I ended up getting the XDm.

The 35 was my first spoon, had it for ~10yrs. Excellent choice. I initially bought it to try out IPSC but never got into it.

I have the 34 which is the same as the 35 except it is 9mm instead of .40. While I never cared for Glocks before, I chose the 34 as it is well proven in IDPA style pistol competitions. I would never pick a Glock for bullseye competition, but for run and gun timed shooting competitions Glocks are at the top of the list.
When I first started shooting it, I had just completed a winter indoor .22 bullseye league shooting a 1.8 lb trigger 7" bull barreled Ruger Mark II and I struggled with the Glock's heavy trigger and different grip. After about 1000 rounds however, I started to like it and now after developing a solid very high thumbs forward grip and decent index, I have gone from a "novice" lower mid pack IDPA shooter to often beating some "expert" class shooters and many of the "sharpshooter" class shooters in local matches. The Glocks are the most popular but Springfield XD's and some CZ's also are good proven platforms for this style of shooting. Of course there are also a bunch of 1911's in the CDP (.45) division, but I have witnessed many failures in the middle of scenarios with many of the 1911's including some pricy Kimbers. I have never had nor have I witnessed a single failure in a competition involving a Glock. The d@mn things are just plain reliable in competition whether old or new... clean or dirty.

Had a Glock 19 for some time and hated the trigger. traded it for some other random firearm and bought a Wilson KZ45 and LOVED the trigger.
That was several years ago. Neighbor got a new Glock .45 full size (forget number) recently and we went shooting. I was honestly surprised at how much I liked the trigger vs. what i remembered. Especially considering the price difference. Have been considering selling the Wilson and buying a Glock now.

I've fired a Glock in .380 and thought it was OK. I don't like the Grip angle. On Springfield XD series, I fired a XD-40 last weekend and the grip didn't seem to fit my hand. I think the grip was too large. The Taurus 40 that I fired was much more accurate in my hands.

i have "glock money" burning a friggen hole in my pocket..
some guy up here sells to my friend at cost, and has agreed to do the same for me. he's country, with that "any friend of your's is a friend of mine.." attitude. gotta love country. i want the 21SF, but that one above is a beauty!! i didnt like older glocks, but the new ones (and styling) is much improved. my brother told me the factory light trigger is 3.5 lbs? is he right? he shoots one for work. night sights, and a tiny flashlight hanging underneath for the stuff in the dark...super cool. he did tell me to shoot the XDm, as some of his guys are switching over. he said the trigger feels even BETTER!

I agree with Red-Beard, while I like the Glock, I just can't adjust to the grip angle. I have to say, my favorite spoon to shoot has been the Sig p226. I sometimes wish I hadn't traded it in for a USP 40.

Glocks never have felt right in my hand. Can shoot well with them, but have not shot one I particularly liked. My wife wants one, but has never shot one.
Of course, in Kalifornia, 10 is max for any magazine, because if you had 11 or more, you would be compellled to go shoot a bunch of children or postal workers. Apparently the combination of the water, climate and high capacity magazines drives you insane. Maybe if I drank bottle water from Arizona...

I have a Glock 21 (.45 full size), and love it. It ALWAYS goes bang, and I am as accurate with it as I am with my Colt 1911 gold cup. If (heaven forbid) I had to have only one handspoon I would choose my Glock.
