What’s the opposite of a nightmare?

I have always had the ability to go to sleep quickly. I have not had a bad dream since I was a kid. I don’t remember having any nightmares.

The point of all of this is this morning; once again I woke myself up from all my giggling. It was a night-comedy or night-funny. Like almost any dream once you are awake it is just stupid. In my dream I was the instructor at our autocross but the course looked more like the Nurburgring. I had no sense of danger just fun but the driver was having a real problem with the brakes. We were in a really nice 914 but he kept pushing real hard on the brakes. When we finally got out of the car his right leg looks like Popeye’s arms, but his left leg was real skinny. Yea, it’s stupid but I giggled like a school girl and that woke up my wife who thinks I must be deranged to have funny dreams. I usually wake up very happy.

Do any of you guys have funny dreams that make you wake up laughing?

Pretty much all of my dreams turn into nightmares if allowed to run for long enough.

Dreams tell a lot about how things are going inside the noggin...

If they are not good then its time to change something...

My only drug is beer. No prescription needed.

I don't dream that often honestly. When I finally get to sleep I am out hard... If I do dream I don't remember it... But if your dreams are always good its a sign things are good.

Hahah. First one I ever read was "Source of Magic", and I was hooked. Toward the end that weren't as good as early on. I think Piers A is actually a serious nut-job, but a great writer.

I have funny dreams not impossible dreams. That would be a dream come true. Right after I win the lottery.

+1 The first one or two Xanth novels were fun but they went downhill pretty quickly IMHO.

+1 On the nutjob comment as well. I enjoy a lot of his books but something about his writing is...weird.

That said...

Lately my dreams have been pretty intense. Some positive, some negative. My migraine medication seems to have an effect on this.

I read a book by PA called Firefly. It was pretty out there and about a pedophile with some pretty graphic descriptions.

Also, if you ever read some of the stuff at the end of his books, at some point he became a pen-pal with a young girl. As she grew up and, I think, as she got to become a teen, she lost interest. He ranted and raved about her not writing to him any more. It had a very creepy vibe.

Um at the risk of being not cool or worldly, I have no idea what author you guys are talking about.
If the day-stallion crack had anything to do with him it was a coinky-dink.

OK, googled it. Science fiction writer.
I haven't read any serious science fiction since I was a kid visiting my grandparents, and then all grandpa had was azimov and heinlein.
