Gibson Les Paul Studio model....
Hopefully, if all goes well, I will be getting a Les Paul back that I sold a couple of years ago to a buddy of mine... I do have a question though... I have been made aware of a Les Paul studio model that is for sale locally in the $600. price range... I have no experience with this model, but after checking around it seems like a very good price... any of you guys own or played one and can give me a little info/what to look for etc.... It is about a 60 mile round trip just to go look at it, so I would like your opinions before I make the commitment to go see it.... thanks in advance...

Just my opinion but it is the entry level Les Paul. Very nice guitar but not a Standard. That said everyone needs one in their herd. What does it sound like. It's the cat between the strings and the floor every time.

I have a Studio. Nothing fancy from an appearance standpoint, but it plays well and sounds great and that's what it's all about, IMO. $600 for a Studio is a pretty decent deal but not spectacular.
