Inside job at shipping company?

I purchased a set of wheels and tires (4) last week from a friend. The tires and wheels were strapped together, two at a time, secured by 3 nylon straps. Two labels were faxed and affixed. Pickup was made. Weights were 52.3 lbs each pair. Shipments arrive today, missing one wheel each. Only the wheel/tire with the shipping label made it, the piggybacked wheel/tires are missing.

I contacted shipping company and notified them of the problem, I have dug around today for phone numbers and contacted my local terminal. All terminals along the way have been notified (I hope).

I've shipped and received so many sets this way, and never a problem. I have a hard time believing that all 6 straps broke.

With the security that the shippers must adhere to these days, is it even probable that an individual could even get out with something this size? I know anything is possible.

Just in case these are in fact floating around out there in somebodys trunk, here is a photo of one that was delivered. If anybody sees these on Ebay or any other site, please let me know. The tires are Pirelli P6000 195/65/15.

Were the center caps on?

Have to assume the thief knew what they had.

I've shipped and received wheels the same way.

Never an issue.

Centercaps were on, but had black Duct Tape over them to hold them on. Wheel faces were facing each other for protection. I'm bummed.

Don't see why not.

I hate thieves.
