				Anyone know pianos?

I'm helping my old mum to downsize a bit, and one the things she wants to get rid of is her piano. It's about 15 years old but looks like new, and the brand is Baldwin. Anyone have any idea what I should ask for this on Craigslist???

That's not a bad Piano. We looked at one similar to this a year ago before buying a Kawaii. They made thousands of these Baldwins and there are plenty on the market. It really is a buyers market for pianos and don't know why anyone would buy a new one when ones like these are selling far below what the originally sold. You could hold out and see if it sells, but I would list it for $1000 and take the first legitimate best offer someone gave you, maybe far below the intial asking price. Like I said, there are plenty out there. Still a nice piano.

The Baldwin is one bullet-proof, sturdy piano, built to the standards of their steam locomotives. As far as selling it goes, I'd look for a retired conductor.

No, but if you hum a few bars, I'll play along.

When's the last time it was tuned? That can be a big expense if hasn't been done for a while. Seems like it should go for more than a few hundred though....

| Band. |
+1 on the $1000, plus or minus. Mostly minus. It's a fine piano, though.

Nice piano! Uprights are generally more desirable because they don't require a large room. We have a Wurlitzer baby grand and it takes up a lot of room. I would list it for $1000...
