Retro bodies being sold by Ford
A company called Dynacorn has been selling various GM and Ford muscle cars and vintage pick-up rebodies. Now it seems Ford will sell their classic gen 1 Bronco bodies and Dynacorn will begin selling Challenger/Cuda bodies. I really like 930's but this stuff is really cool as well!!

My father owns a modern model-A. It was built in the early 80's and has a modern 2.3 liter 4 cylinder, hydraulic brakes, seat belts, etc. Otherwise, it is a 1928 Ford Model A.
Basically, it is a "replicar" like the VW bug to 356 replicars, except it is fully modern.

The article on autoweek eluded to that sort of car. Did your dad buy it via a Ford dealer or someone else?
That same article mentioned an EcoBoost powered new gen 1 Bronco that Ford will show at SEMA this fall. I have always liked gen 1 Broncos and bought one 10 years ago. Long story short, it had terminal cancer. I've had my eyes open for another ever since. A truly nice bronco can bring $15-20K. Unfortunately, there are more people than not out there with delusional definitions of truly nice. I recently bought a '67 Mustang coupe (no coupe reproduction bodies from Dynacorn) that came from Arizona. It will become a group 2 replica racer for the street. I was miffed that it has a half-dollar sized hole in the floor. Otherwise it is a really solid car that will work well for my purposes. My neighboor is a Camaro guy that is reviving a JL8 4 wheel disc brake '69 from (beneath) the ground-up to the tune of about $80K so far. He basically told me I'm too fussy to be messing with ~40-year old cars. So, I was pretty excited by the prospect of a new Gen1 Bronco. That being said, my neighbor indicated that the Dynacorn bodies have had panel fit issues ![]() Quote:

Those early Broncos are such rust buckets - that Ford gets to sell the body twice!

I always heard that the tooling for old Fords and GMs and some Euros went to Mexico - this have the old 50's Chevy style as well. Might be an urban myth but I gotta believe that if you brought back the ol Rambler, early 60's Vette or Fairlane they would sell (provided they didn't dick with the lines they way the did with some of the 'bring-backs').

You can buy every piece of an early Bronco body now you just have to assemble it yourself.
Unassembled Bronco Body Tub Kit I'm assuming that the Dynacorn body will come assembled. ICON 4x4 announced at the last SEMA show that they will be building early Broncos soon, I can't wait to see what they come up with but I'm sure they will be at least six figures like their Land Cruisers and flat fender Jeeps. My own Bronco is almost finished after many years of restoration work. I was lucky and didn't have too must rust to deal with but I have seen some complete piles of rot brought back from the dead. ![]() |

All those stamping pieces must be around somewhere, for every car that's every been built! I know someone brought this up on the tech forum a while back - wouldn't it be cool if Porsche could stamp some classic body panels, fit them over a modern car, and sell a brand new SC or longhood? If that's what Ford is doing, then who knows, maybe there's hope yet! Too bad the Bronco is fugly as all get out...
