Triumph Spitfire in Camo-Spitfire Aircraft WWII Colors

My son might be picking up an older Triumph Spitfire (1972) as a joint fun restoration project. Way back I recall seeing advertisements of the Triumph Spitfire painted in true British Spitfire WWII aircraft colors. The bottom portion of the car was a light baby sky blue and white and the upper body was a camouflage mix (browns, greens, tans). I think someone even painted the mouth full of shark teeth as well. It was a British Standard-Leyland actual advertisement for the car. It might have been a rare factory color option.

I have been searching for a photo for several days now with no luck. If anyone has one around or something even close, can you please post. This might be the color scheme we might go with.

Thanks

Bob

If you can guesstimate a year, I may have pics in my old car magazines... dunno when I'll have a chance to go thru 'em though...

BINGO!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you that was it. Maybe I saw many years ago a Spitfire rolling down the street with the paint scheme I described earlier, which would not be too bad as well. But it was the British emblem on the door that holds the key.

By the way I drove a 1967 TR-4A IRS for years (red). Great car.

thanks

Bob
