Clyde would shorten the barrels by sawing them off and would also saw off the stocks to shorten that...

Thats a 30/06 round...lots of heavy hitting fire power...

I used to work across the street from Clyde Barrow's nephew. He had a car repair business with an unlisted phone number. He was really good and always busy. He had a few interesting stories about his uncle.

Bonnie & Clyde were just real bad folks. They got what they deserved.

Arizona Charlies out in Primm, NV had the B&C Death Car....I don't know if it is still there or not? I saw it a long time back..it was pretty shabby but original. and full of holes.

Spent a bit of time on the Hide Out site...the death photos are macabre but fascinating

Can you imagine that kind of ambush happening today? I mean Texas Rangers hiding in the bushes in Louisiana, staging a phony flat tire and then opening up with hundreds of rounds?

Saved a lot of money on court costs. Bury those two scumbags in a pauper's grave with no tombstone for all I care, but damn! That was what passed for justice in those days. I guess there were no real witnesses other than the lawmen themselves and the uncle of that other hoodlum.

Why do you think it is much different today? Most Metro PD's have their Special Investigation Units...that go after the especially egregious bad guys.

I especially like the part when they got shot up into a gazillion pieces.
Too bad the cops couldn't have drug that out over a painfully long time.

Thiefs and murderers should be detested, not idolized.

One of my relatives was on the ambush team. The site is less than 1/2 hour from here, and they have a museum in Arcadia (where the bodies/car were initially taken after the ambush).
