OT- Help Name my Baby
I hope this doesn't get moved but it probably will.
Well my wife and I are 8 weeks away from our first baby, we haven't decided on amy names yet. We don't know if it is a boy or girl. We DO NOT want ordinary but not to weird either. So far we have Gage for Boy, and ; Teigan or Brynly for a girl Any other great ideas, I really value your input on the other important parts of my life (Porsche) so why not here too. Please help. Last name is Davis Shawn and Heidi |
Even if I had Leland's diplomatic talents, I wouldn't touch this with the proverbail ten foot pole....:)
|
Here you go. I found a list of 1000 to pick from. Good luck.

I suppose it's not OT if we're talk'n Portia's here.
There is Portia de Rossi from Ally McBeal and some hair product comercials http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate...tiadeRossi.jpg So if your wife looks like this Portia, and if it is a girl then take tmctguers advice and name her Betty. |
Boy: Oliver, Hayden, Linden
Girl: Ruby, Emily, Tuesday, Antonia Good luck and let us know what you choose! |
boy.........corbin or alvin
girl..........ashley or justine bell (my name,not a suggestion) 85' 911 targa |
Boy or Girl: Fuchs Davis, pronounced correctly as Fooks(like books). That way either can be a "fox" and the name added to your last name is both strong and memorable! And , of course, unique.
|
Kevin, I didn't mean anything about your friend, just making an observation. I have met a couple Portia's over the years, but never a "Porsche". Is her name really spelled like that? If so, is there a story behind it?
Shawn & Heidi, Go rent "She's Having a Baby" and stick around for the closing credits. Lots of good suggestions, and a pretty funny movie. Congrats on the coming family member, Tom |
Hey there... congrats
My sister has a name that is beautiful and different... Antonina, but she goes by Nina regularly. very cool. Danielle Davis has a nice ring to it as well! Good Luck my friends:) Best, Pete:) |
Hey Congrats Shawn! ...again. :)
Anyway,... I have always loved the name Mercedes for a girl, even though I know it is kind of latino sounding and may not go wel with "Pate" or "Davis". But I like it all the same. :) here are a few that I like: boy Leland Layland Elian ... ok just kidding Wailen or Waylen ....wait, never mind... "Davis"... ;) Paul Eric Oliver Cobin Wes girl Ashley Brook Portia ...serious, i like it. Bethany Autumn Rosie spoiled brat that pisses on everything congrats! I'm envious! |
How about
E. Cameron Davis? The E could be Erin, Eric, Erica, Edward, etc etc...or maybe S. Cameron Davis The S could be Shawn, Sally, Sylvie, Shannon, Samuel etc... Just forget about T , as nobody seems to want them! (unless you had Twin Cam's) I always liked that name CAM, or even Cammie. And its good either way, boy or girl. It's no wonder I have not seen you on here as much. All the best you two...errr three! |
I don't know why but I find myself to be partial to the name Kelly. Kelly Davis sounds like a heartbreaker, girl next door type.
I guess it works both ways and you could tell them they were named for a brilliant engineer. Think SR71 Congrats on expanding the pool of Porsche enthuiasts David Lockhart 89turbo cab no kids, not even a girlfriend at the moment SmileWavy |
Thanks Everyone. Heidi is even looking her now ;) ,
There are some good ideas Tom we will rent that movie tonight Quote:
I know about the Porsche theme I keep trying to think of something related to but nothing I love. This is a hard decision!!!!! Thanks guys Shawn |
EMCON5 yes her name is acyually spelled that way, and no offense taken, Kevin
|
Girls:
Portia, Aaliyah, Carrera, Ashley, Kelly, Brook Boys: Broden, Shannon, Ashliegh, Brook, Brock My choose would be Portia Marie Davis What do we get if you choose one of ours? :p |
If you like the Porsche theme, maybe -
Boy - Alwin, Norbert, Hurley Girl - Louise (Piech) Or, something that would fit either way - Jackie (Ickx) or Jo (Hoppen) |
PRIZE
GOOD IDEA
If I choose one of the names from the board, the prize will go to whoever mentioned it first. The prize will be; A custom made Pottery Coffee Mug that I had made with the Porsche crest on it. These are very nice and I had them made specially for me by a local potter. I have a few and there are some people on this board who are going to be getting one anyways. That is the reason I had them made in the first place. Sort of Thank-you's. So whoever uses the name i pick gets one too. But don't just start listing names to get one-that will make your entry void! Thanks again guys Shawn |
babys name
How about Teener .......... Davis
|
Congrats!
I got my first Porsche in the 80's, so how about: "Moby Dick"? |
How about:
-356 or 911, he/she will be the only one in the class. -LeMans... -Sebring... -Daytona... -Oversteer -Rusty -CIS -Weber I could keep going, but I don't think these have a chance, Good Luck! |
After seeing stray15's post, I think Carrera would be an awesome name for a girl.
|
Just a crazy thought. How about getting a list of the 9-11-01 terroist attack victims? Choose the name from that long, much too long, list?

I like the name Eric for the boy.... Girl... I have no idea
Eric Mckenna 78SCWDP |
When picking a name for a kid remember to take into consideration if the name will be likely to get the kid teased in school. What might seem a great name in the parents opinion might cause hell to the poor kid as soon as he/she starts school.
I know I'm spoiling the fun here, but I have a point I think. Pattie=Fattie Nick=Di** etc. (you get the point) ;) |
If it's a boy...Justin ????? Davis
If it's a girl... Miranda Nicole Davis I never got teased in school!!!!!! |
Heh heh I didn't get teased either, but sometimes I took part in teasing others - it's quite fun when you're 10 years old.
|
Don't forget that the kid is going to have to live with the name through school so think twice before you label them with anything too strange. Maybe a funny middle name would be good for future kid control?
On a Porsche theme Portia or Carrera would be great for a girl, and Oscar for a first born boy. (OK, how many out there know why Oscar for a boy?) No, not because it would be silly for a girl! |
names
Boy- Chance
Girl - Porsche |
