What are your Pelican Forum browsing habits?

I visit the forums here pretty much every day. I first hit the 911 tech forum, then the off topic forum (avoid PARF like the plague), the 911 parts for sale, and finally the cars for sale forum. I have no idea why I torture myself looking at the cars for sale, because I have absolutely no money for another Porsche, even if the deal of the century showed up, but I still check it every day. There have been a few cars there that I would have snapped up in a moment if I could have. I guess it's just car porn for me.

I view the 911 tech then OT daily. I'll hit the cars for sale about once a week.

Exclamation I Must be sick...

Since between first saw one (1963) and got one (2009), I got a lot to catch up to do...

So It basicly start at 04:30 and finished at 23:30.

I actually look at all the title of the new post for every day...

But it does pay off in knowledge and getting great deal like today's Carrera Script, which I was the thrid one to answer. All 12 of them were sold by lunch time.

See my previous posting; New Personal Record; Need Professional Help...

Mostly evenings now. I try to avoid during during work hours, cuz I am supposed to be writing research proposals at my desk. If I don't do it, I will run out of funding, lose my job, and we'll have to live in a trailer and eat squirrels.

My car has never given me much trouble.

Once every couple of years I poke into the Tech forum, topics never change.

I avoid the classifieds as I either spend money that I should not or I just missed a deal by 5 minutes and get pissed.

PPOT is bookmarked and is usually up all day on one of my computers.

Well, I used to spend all of my time on the 911 Tech board. Then I sold my 911. I gradually drifted from the 911 Tech board to OT. I don't go to PARF. I rarely look at anything besides OT. Occasionally, I'll check out the 911 tech board, but only when I'm really bored.

I check in daily usually before work and then in the evening, usually the tech forum and then OT. Once I've been through those I head over to the 930 and 964/993 forums to see what's going on. A 993 is in my future so I like to see what others are dealing with. I will check the classifieds every couple of days to see if any interesting pops up.

Yes, I spend too much time here but I figure the wealth of information is worth it.

911 Turbo and Supercharging forum, then OT. Every once in awhile I'll look at 911 parts for sale and cars for sale.

used to hang on tech side but too many people wanted cup holders/chrome oil drain plugs/mega mongo stereos/12" wide wheels up front and 17" wheels in back/3-story tall bi-wings/ and a host of other crap. got tired of arguing the merits of one air filter over another.

the parts side seldom as im PCA/SCCA showroom stock basically, so not much goes wrong. and selling parts is a PITA due to everyone being a cheap ass and then they want you to ship for free, and then you buy beer and come over and hang the part on their car meanwhile giving them a "smoking deal".

the racing side is FUN. lots of info there on what werks and what dont. but as mentioned being showroom stock............what the hell can i improve unless i jump into another class.

OT and PARF.....................LOVE IT! nothing better than getting into a knock down drag out fight across the planet with some idiot at 5am my time! my morning doesnt start w/out drinking my coffee, taking a huge GROWLER and then jumping on and reading all about the days BOOFOONARY in bizzarro pelican world! would not miss it for the world. actually went 5 days without OT and had the shakes being computerless.

what can i say..................I LIKE TO BLOW COFFEE OUT MY NOSE ONTO MY PUTER SCREEN ON A REGULAR ONGOING BASIS!

I usually wake up with a cup of coffee, and check pelican right after I wake up. I will occasionally take a minute or two and check in while writing an invoice or ordering parts throughout the work day, and will sometimes check in before bed.
I used to spend my time in the tech forum, but I find myself in OT more often than not.
I have looked in Parf before, and have for the most part decided to stay out of the ghetto.

Black squirrel = red wine,

Red squirrel = rosé wine and of course,

Albinis Squirrel = white wine.

If you start with the wine they are much tastier. Of course you need a good recipe book, I recommended;

Amazon.com: The Original Road Kill Cookbook (9780898152005): Buck Peterson, J. Angus Mclean: Books

Bon Appétit...

Three forums I visit regularly, OT, 911 tech and 911 engine rebuilding. No particular order.

I usually pop into OT, catch up on the current threads of interest then pop over to 911 Tech. I have been to PARF a few times just to watch the stupidity. It is just like the Monty Python bit of the argument clinic. I doubt anyone has ever changed their opinion on any subject discussed over there. That gets boring real fast. Back to OT.

Often on weekends I am so busy having a life in the real world I don’t visit Pelican at all.

I am on and off thru the day. Not so much at night. Order of looking: 911 Parts, 911 Cars for Sale, 911 Tech, Porsche Marketplace and finally OT. Every now and then the BMW and Boxster boards.

Mostly OT, never PARF, pop into the 356 area on occasion.

I try to look at the Boxster forum but frequently forget. No big deal, you can't get lost there. Anyway, the Box and 996 forums are where I can learn lots of new stuff. Like many of you, I don't seem to pick much up on the 911 tech side and there are usually several answers before I even see the question.

OT is a curse, isn't it? PARF certainly is. I mean if you wanna get sucked into a black hole......
