Suspicious link on Facebook

So a friend posts a link on FB that I'm slightly tempted to follow. Clicking the link takes me to what appears to be another page on FB with a very simple instruction that reads "To Proceed Click Here". The suspicious part is when I place my pointer over the link the typical redirect info at the bottom of my IE page shows nothing. When I right click the link and select Properties "Not Available" appears.
Could this be the dreaded FB virus that everyone is talking about?
And How bad should I beat the "friend" who posted the link?

I got off FB using the instructions from a previous thread. To me, the problems out weigh the benefits and there will always be problems with something that big and influential.

I wish I knew about the link, but I'd be suspicious like you. AFA beating on your friend, does he/she know? Don't you have to ask first?

Was it for a Free iPad?

Any time you see those types of posts it's almost a lock that your friends account has been hacked.

Follow the link and you'll find yourself in the same boat.

Hacked refers IMO to breaking into a system to steal information. Things like these are typically phished.

Good point milt, maybe I'll ask first. I'd be willing to bet she doesn't know enough to be dangerous by herself. Maybe just a good spanking will do both she and I some good.

It also refers to altering a system to behave in a manner inconsistent with it original design or purpose.

It also refers to a quick fix.

But you got the point.........
