Cover ideas for my Book - Help Needed

I am experiencing a block in creativity. I would like to submit a cover idea to my new publisher for my book and I have no clue. Not even a remote clue. If I don't provide one they will and I don't know if I like those fancy pants marketing types messing around with my work. So...I figured I would ask my buds on 'the Bored' to see if they had any ideas. Even color schemes might promote some sort of idea. Here is their website. Click on it and you can get a chance to look at their other offerings.

The title of my work is Spend Analysis and Specification Development Using Failure Interpretation. It is focused around industrial, heavy equipment and municipal maintenance and repair operations.

If your design or concept or color scheme is chosen I will send you a free, signed copy! Yippeee!!

Here is the page where you can order my work if you so wish!

A picture of a stack of broken parts should be perfectly suitable for your book cover.

I'd get an old ledger book page that is not copyrighted and put a burst in the middle like a peep hole into any interesting graphics you already have in the text. Maybe a montage of 3-4 of these graphics.

i think to sell copies of this book you are going to have to have lurid pictures of scantily dressed women on the cover...I would also suggest a change in title to something more salacious and appealing.

Hmm maybe a title like ....HOW I CAME TO MURDER MY DATE...which speaks to the all around failure of spending and chatting her up...to get some...as taken from the perspective of the murderer as a failed suitor.

Hope this has helped

Oh BTW if my suggestions are used and your book does hit the NYT Best Seller list I wana cut...on this otherwise snooze patrol...Just ask Sniper how many pages he could wade through before somnolence carries him of to sand man land.

I like ships sinking, bridges falling, trains colliding, especially in b&w as someone posted earlier. Remember, people do judge books by their cover.

There is of course another course of selling this book and that is to sell it in a drug store as a cure for insomnia...Then perhaps an appropriate title might be "Snooozing In No Time"

However again if Lubby gets a Noble for finding a cure to ones of mans most pernicious problems I want my cut..and again the test for the efficacy of this marketing strategy is to ask yourself how many pages could Sniper wade through on this snooze patrol before he was soundly snoring in slumber land. .

I agree with Ian here. But the name of the book:

"The Burning Bearing"
