Thankyou law enforcement

A big thanks to our law enforcement officers.

About a moth ago while walking my dog at 4:30 am before work, noticed my new neighbors ( 4 shady looking losers) were still partying in the garage of their rental home and had a feeling they were doing more than drinking. This was only the first of many more incidents. And other neighbors suspected drug activity at the home.

There has been a dumpster in front of the house for about a week, and this evening, while walking the dog a retired neighbor told me that the police came arrested them and they are still in jail.

Also, about the same time I noticed the suspected drug activity, a young deputy sheriff bought a home behind me.

A good neighbor moves in an the bad are gone with in a month.

Thanks to all those in law enforcement.

Gary

Make sure you stay friendly with the sheriff behind you, but keep the majority of the conversation about something other than his job. Like most employees, those guys want to be done with it at the end of the day too.

Great! That story usually doesn't end up so well. I lived in a neighborhood in M'boro, TN that got so bad people didn't flinch at gunshots unless it was from an automatic. All thanks to one abandoned home bringing in the crackheads a few years earlier.

Yea, I know a few LEOs that just never talk about their job. If you ask a question they just change the subject.

Wow... I'm glad I don't live near any of you guys.
I was up till 2AM a few days ago. In addition to that, you'd probably have me carted off for working on my car in my driveway, or for the illicit firepit that was built by the previous tenant. I'm a real menace, don't you know. Hey... I almost forgot... this morning i was walking around NAKED in my own house!

You wouldn't be quite so smug if you did have druggies living next door or behind you (as I did). Another class of humans, that's for sure.

The only evidence he mentions is them being "shady looking losers" and awake at 4am.
That sounds like me in college, and I wasn't a druggie.

At least they weren't putting dog poop in Gary's dumpster...

Agree with Milt/Zeke, it is quite different when it is close by.

A few years ago the next door neighbors were dealing meth, and had cars coming and going all day long. It all came to a head one morning at 4:30 am when I was awoke by 3 very loud explosions (flash grenades I think they were), and a swat team member standing on my drive way with an automatic weapon in hand. Lots of yelling and screaming "come out, with your hand up, etc'.
About an hour later, I was standing on the neighbor's driveway watching the bust, and a car that I had seen many times at the meth house pulled up. I thought, boy, this dumb ass going to walk right into the bust. He jumped out of the car and spoke to us ' I bet you're glad that trash is out of the neighborhood!'
Turns out he was an undercover cop.

Bravo for our boys in blue!

There was a drug dealing teenager across the street and down two houses from my old house. My front window had a perfect view so I took pictures of dozens of cars. I would just hand the roll of film to a cop friend and let them develop the film. The dumb ass punk was busted twice in short order. The judge told him three strikes and you go away big time. It took just six month before he was busted a third time. They found a bunch of stolen property that the druggie customers would bring over to trade for drugs. He went down hard for a bunch of stolen firearms. The neighborhood had a big block party celebration for his 25 year sentence.

"Dealing drugs out of a house" and "doing drugs in a house" are two very different things. I have a problem with the former (mainly because of the traffic - no pun intended). The latter is not my business. That is the point I am trying to make here.

They wouldn't have enough jails in Michigan to hold all the underage drinking criminals on campus around here during greek week. Those kids violate the riot act and flaunt noise ordinance violations with volume 11, right on the main drags.
Oh, and blocking traffic with double parking? Bring in the national guard and a fleet of car carriers! Instead of a degree, give those students a record.

The good thing about drug laws is it allows police to effectively enforce other ordinance and criminal violations. The bad thing is enables direct violation of the constitution.
What people do in the privacy of their own homes is their own business.
