I know some do hot pack, but does anyone do COLD PACK PICKLES!?

I was at Whole Foods and noticed cold packed pickled vegetables. Does anyone else do that?

I was thinking of doing more than just cukes. The idea was to fill a jar in vinegar and pickle things like cauliflower, cukes, and maybe even beets. Anything else I should do or any other recipes?

My grandmothers used to dill there own pickles and the would always put carrot sticks in the jars, always the first thing to go. My son loves the pickled veggies.
