Scott Pilgrim vs The World

Finally saw it today. Best film of the year imho. Borrowed heavily from Kung Fu Hustle (which is on my top 10 of all time list), but had its own unique angle with the gaming motif, as well as its own set of internal jokes and references. Another example of "the modern musical" (along with "Once", a truly stunning film).

And if you want something a little more off the beaten path, try "Man, Woman & the Wall" (2006). Some soft core bits, and a disturbing date rape scene, but an interesting take on the topic of voyeurism, with lots of twists. And the usual twisted Japanese sensibilities...

I wasn't looking forward to it but from the sounds of it, it should be OK.

My 13 year old son saw it, but I haven't asked him what he thought (he saw it with his mom). There are a lot of girlfriend/relationship humor bits so a young kid won't really get them. But there is a lot of visual action.
