Nope, no more than a bottle of whiskey. The world does not change any at all, just your temporary perception.

In college we generally grew our own MJ, and made our own acid. We were concerned about the poor innocents in 3rd world countries.

Granted, we did buy our speed, but that was from Russian mobsters, so the money went back there, and we know that everyone in that country benefited from that, what with wealth distribution and all :D

It's my understanding the majority of pot smoked in the US is domestically grown now. If it was legal, I imagine it would be 100% domestically grown which would remove one more tool of the Mexican mafia. I'm just sayin.

So snapper, you feel that if everyone stopped buying drugs, then all those other issues would disappear?

No, they would just find other sources of revenue.

As a historical tangent...the U.S. constitution and the Bill of Rights were printed on non-acidic hemp paper and have survived several hundred years. All the bags and sails of Columbus' three ships were of industrial hemp.
Industrial produces a long, thin, and very strong fiber and can be grown quickly in the worst of conditions without expensive care.

But hemp for industrial purposes is different from intaking for medical purposes....

They also found the 10,000 y.o. skeleton of a pregnant israeli woman who took it for labor pains.
Mabye she should have taken FDA-approved Thalidomide instead(?)
