Marijuana smells like a skunk?!!!!
 

I was at a crime lab today and noticed a smell like a skunk. I asked the young gal what it was.

She looked down at the pile of stuff she was working on and said "uh, this." I replied "what is that?"

"Marijuana" she said, in a tone like I was an alien.

I've been around enough to know when it is being smoked but why would it smell "skunky"?

(The lab chicks got a laugh today anyway.:cool:)

I always thought the same thing. And when it is burning it stinks even more. The number one best part of it being illegal is very few dopers smoke it in public so I don't have to smell it.

Depends on the variety and manner in which it is cultivated.

Not sure why it smells like that but it generally means it's the good stuff.

Yeah, I know the smell you are talking about. My car used to smell like that in the morning.

its called skunk weed, primo stuff, did lots of it in high school. that and thai stick were my favorites. much better than the run of the mill columbian.. i've heard b bud is good too but i'm too old for that or atleast till the kids get out of the house.

There are some varieties of MJ out there now that are exponentially stronger than the stuff from it's heydey in the '70s.

I feel like I'm missing out. Never tried it. Fortunately, I guess I don't know what I'm missing, and have no interest in trying. I've been around lots of stuff. The guy across the hall from me in college used to get out the bong while we were playing axis and allies. He'd kill us no matter what country he chose. Buddies in HS used to drop acid all of the time. Worked in the topless bar industry for almost 5 years. I've had managers offer me coke. I've just never had the desire.

while i agree with you in spirit being over zealous is just as bad. not all drug usage is a felony charge nor are all users criminals. your mentality has as many flaws as the reagan "just say no" anti-drug campaign, which was quite possibly one of the worst ever implemented. what you are doing is akin to profiling without just cause or information.

everyone has their own opinion. if the action is not illegal then no crime has been committed, and this is the case in several states concerning the possession and usage of marijuana. this is america and everyone has a voice, and in some places those voices have made it legal. being to far to either side of the argument is never a good place to live.

like i said, everyone has their own opinions and are entitled to them. if no crime has been committed than no one is a criminal, such as legalized state marijuana laws. you can't argue with that fact. you may not agree with the laws or even like them, but you have to respect them. i am sure things are different in central america but that is why i choose to live somewhere else.

Modern marijuana is extremely concentrated compared to the cannabis of 40-50 years ago.
It goes back to weight/mass vs. criminal sentencing.
A comparison would be crack cocaine to chewing cocoa leaves, or a shotglass of wine to a stein of Everclear. Heroin is about 500 times cheaper by than that of yesteryear per dose.

Meanwhile, civil and constitutional liberties are trampled in the federal government's campaign to control the citizens right to put whatever the "f" they want into their own body, and dying medical patients are arrested for relieving themselves of pain.
I just don't understand the governments hatred of it's citizens.

Snapper, I'm sure you feel morally justified, but criminalization comes down to the right of free will and self-determination vs. external control, and only expands the same black market which you fight against.
