Thanks Paul I'm doing just that. I should hitting on all cylinders by the time you guys get here.

Congrats on getting it behind you, and I wish you a speedy and comfortable (well, as much as possible) recovery - and that includes Shaun too. You were smart to cancel your Saturday gig. You will both notice improvement with each day that passes, but keep in mind not to get too rambunctious and try to push it. Think how lucky we are now days compared to decades ago.

David, I'm here to tell you to stay in bed or stay on the couch for 3+ days. I've way over done ir, LT is a demanding mistress, and I'm paying for it now. a little worried how swollen it is. pain is so-so, but much more swollen than yesterday.

targa911S 09-16-2010 09:27 AM

so are you gonna follow your own advice?

azasadny 09-16-2010 09:28 AM

Don't forget the frozen peas, they work wonders!

RPKESQ 09-16-2010 09:33 AM

Glad to hear you are doing well. As others said, rest, fiber and more rest.

You'll be better than new soon!SmileWavy

If you get sicker...you're gonna be more behind than if you rest now. I cancelled a show buddy I know what you are going through, but you need to listen to your body. Don't be stupid.

you're asking quite a lot there! :)

I'm taking all of tomorrow off and staying bed and moving as little as possible today.

Shaun..don't.. well you have started already..
many folks after having a Vas/ or surgery...
want to 'test' see if it works or wonder..
if the booboo has been fixed..

you two guys need to TAKE IT EASY !!! The swelling will start seriously on the second day, and you'll have it for maybe a couple of weeks before it starts to subside. You can try the frozen pea trick, but it won't help but a little if at all. It might make it feel better for awhile. You need to be serious about not pushing it, because you could be sorry. Tobra mentioned something that would help with the scar tissue later on. He said it was a bit expensive, but didn't say if it was OTC or not. I"m thinking of looking for some if I can buy it without a prescription. Don't overdo it.

There is also "hernia belts" which is basically a belt with two hard pads on the sides.
Not sure of the efficacy...

For those "not in the know"-
-Men and women start out the same in the womb.
-For males, the testicles differentiate from ovaries and slowly decend out the peritonium(the bag which holds 30 feet of guts in) through a couple slits.
-A hernia is basically when internal pressure builds up, and pushes the guts out those same holes. Common in heavy weightlifters and the constipated.
