new long spoon

This browning BL 22 had been sitting around at the shop since Jan. Nobody was buying a used .22 for $300.00. One day was looking at it and again I saw all the engraving all over it. I always liked this gun, but I wasn't popping for $300 either. Then one night I started doing homework on it. Turns out it's a grade II gun! They sell new for close to $600. So last week monday I took in a marlin M 25 in .22 that I had made a custom stock for that looks really good as fodder for a possible trade. I hit them with the idea of a trade and the owner asked me what I had in mind. I told him EVEN trade. He though for a while and said "deal" we shook on it and now it's mine. The pics here are not of the actual gun, but the condition and look of mine are identical. I'm a happy guy. I got a browning Bl 22 II even trade for a gun I paid $50 for and put about 10 hours in upgrading and refurbishing.

My trade...

Once I get healed I'll take it out and shoot it.

Those Browning .22s are the best available, IMHO. Have a pump that is awesome. You will have that gun until you give it to a family member.

A pretty good trade for a broken down hernia-repaired old guy.

A great trade, actually!

Thanks guys. I can't wait to shoot it. I've eying the squirrels in the woods for days. One cool thing is the lever is fully open at 30 degrees of travel. Makes for a quick cycle.

And the trigger stays attached to the lever!

Ok, I'm a newb. What defines a grade II gun?

Varies from Maker to Maker, but in Browning case it means a slightly higher grade of wood and some simple engraving.

Thanks. That's about what I guessed, but I just thought I'd ask.
