Got a new daily driver

With the T down for flares and a new motor, I found this little gem for sale within 2 miles of me, perfect for daily driver activities. Best part of the car is that it has never been molested, no drama, no PO "crapftique" to rip out, just a close to bone stock 86 coupe that was pretty well kept up in the local area since new, and drives like it.

Very nice. Seems like surgery gives you too much time on your hands! ;)

Market is very soft on these. Techweenie got one 2-3 months ago for 6K. That's why I never put mine formally up for sale.

gtc 09-20-2010 03:56 PM

And the question we're all asking: How much?

gtc 09-20-2010 03:57 PM

Oh and shouldn't this be posted in the Tech Forum?
:D
(I just wanted to be able to say that once)

Are they really that cheap? They are still stupid expensive in Canada. If I found a Carrera Coupe for under $10k I'd be all over it.

Racerbvd 09-20-2010 03:58 PM

Very nice!!!! Details???

There's a similar one on my local CL for 6300. It's been pretty hard to restrain myself.

Nice score.
Good luck with it.

looks great.

Rule #1: Don't twist any nuts, bolts, or screws counter-clockwise;)

speeder 09-20-2010 04:32 PM

1986 is one of my favorite years for the Carrera, for a whole host of reasons. Good going!

masraum 09-20-2010 04:39 PM

Wow, looks great, I'm jealous. Enjoy!

RWebb 09-20-2010 04:39 PM

no rust??

Oh Haha 09-20-2010 04:39 PM

Man, I "hate" you guys that have more than 1 911. She looks very nice, Shaun.

Gee, I installed a bug guard on the minivan tonight. oooooooooo:rolleyes:

Shaun @ Tru6 09-20-2010 05:55 PM

Thanks Guys, it's been some time since I've had a car like this. nothing to fix, no drama, drives great, faster than I remember, and only has a short list of bolt-on upgrades. just want to enjoy driving it rather than enjoy working on it, the T is good for that now and have to get to the S sometime next year.

got a good deal on the car, very nice fellow bought a 996 Cab so this had to go. one of my best transactions.

herr_oberst 09-20-2010 07:07 PM

That's a nice looking ride. Does it need anything as far as you know?

gduke2010 09-20-2010 07:26 PM

Very nice. I lived in Cambridge for several years. It will be a fun car to drive through the White Mts. or to Browns in Seabrook, NH for some fresh seafood.

Tobra 09-20-2010 09:20 PM

Beauty car, it is a good color too

How will that be when the snow flies, do they salt the roads there?

9dreizig 09-20-2010 09:40 PM
