Nice purchase. Get some wax on the paint and spray those fuchs centers black. A white car is bad enough but white wheels? ;)

I want more 911s too.

That looks like the car I saw in Belmont a few weeks ago. Nice!

Don't touch the wheels. They are perfect. And there is nothing better than a white Carrera.

Good find Shawn. Will they throw you out of the SC world domination plot for going to the dark er white side?

Shaun @ Tru6 09-21-2010 04:32 AM

the car doesn't really need anything. I'd like to lower it with 22/29s, put on some 17 inch Fikse FM10s with black centers or Rota's with Dunlop Direzza's and put on a matched set of M&K cat bypass, muffler and Steve Wong chip, but those are spring endeavors. A Prototypo might be nice in the near term as well as body color H4 trim ring covers, and I do need paint the wheels, but even that's a bigger job than I want right now. The only crazy thought I've had is to paint it an 86 color, meteor grey (color of my first real 911...the 77 C3 that ran for a week doesn't really count) but add a hint of olive to it. Probably will just leave as is though.

Hugh, first thing I did was pull the AC out. Too much weight and won't need it until July next year if then.

Tobra, it'll come off the road as soon as salt is down

Todd, that would be great to see you again. been a while now.

Glen, tough call on the wheels. If they were nice (they aren't) I would leave them, but they screaming for a quick spray, with gloss white or Rustoleum 7777 satin black after I take some Mother's to the anodize. The wheels are probably the weakest part of the car and have these goofy gold crests attached to the caps. Not sure what Porsche was thinking.

Never been an SC fan. Can't understand why anyone would want to deal with CIS, WUR's and a generally inferior car to a Carrera for about the same price. :D:D:D I've had an 84 and this is my second 86.

Well, maybe.

deanp 09-21-2010 07:26 AM

Looks good.

And I'll repeat this, just in case you didn't see it:

"Rule #1: Don't twist any nuts, bolts, or screws counter-clockwise"

I'm pretty sure Porsche had nothing to do with the gold crests. My guess is that was done in the 80s or maybe early 90s by some misguided PO.

azasadny 09-21-2010 08:35 AM

Very nice! Congrats!

aigel 09-21-2010 08:54 AM

Shaun, you are truly a sick man. This will be in pieces before you know it. Glad you agree on the wheels. And yes, the hand painted crests on the wheels are by dufus owners that have nothing else they can modify on the car. Just because there is a crest on the center doesn't mean it hast to get painted hood crest colors. ;)

You are nuts! Do not touch anything, leave it alone, you know this won't turn out well. ;)

Where's the love man!:D

I won't be doing anything to the car that will take it off the road for than 2 hours. How's that?:)

YTNUKLR 09-21-2010 12:38 PM

Just looking out for your best interest ;) so you don't part it out. :D

Shaun @ Tru6 09-21-2010 01:05 PM

yeah, I do have that problem. think the 3.2 and oil/fuel systems would be good for the T? :D

this car will stay whole, no worries there.

YTNUKLR 09-21-2010 01:15 PM

I forgot to say, "nice car!"

RWebb 09-21-2010 06:03 PM

this rule sucks if you should ever want to remove a part...
hmm..maybe rule #2 is: ......ignore rule #1, should you ever want to remove a part?

great car. paint the wheels black. or a better (non yellowing) white.. i vote black.

and dont be dissing our CIS cars, you mofo! :)

Rule #1 was imposed to prevent this:

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1285169728.jpg

We just want to see Shaun out DRIVING enjoying the experience. He's got other cars that Rule #1 does not apply to.

**I suffer from the same disease which is why I had to buy the above car with all nuts and bolts pre-turned counter clockwise.

vash 09-22-2010 07:59 AM

oh..rule #1 = good.

shawn..slowly back away from the tools.

450knotOffice 09-22-2010 08:43 AM
