Numismatic
Are there good websites to findout about old US coins including rough valuation? Found an old bag of coins and just wondering what to do with it.

I do not have the bag with me currently... but an example. A coin that looks like a Liberty Head nickel except the date is 1804. It has the head surrounded by stars on one side and on the other it has a V.
It looks identical to what I see on the web as far as Liberty Head coins go, except for the date. According to what I can find, these coins were not made until 1883 or something similar. I would accept that my eyes are playing tricks on me with regards to the date, but I have had two other people, with magnifying glasses, look at it and they believe it shows as 1804 as well. Anyway, just curious as to what I can find out.

Visit your local public liberry... you'll probably find some books there to help you out.

Look at the coin - check the denomination

Is that to say it is worth the face value?
It is a five cent piece.
