Was it a 2011 5.0? If so, you are one fast 912 piloti!

The back side is all about turning, now the front straight they blow by me! Thats why the track is called the "great equalizer"

How dare anyone even think about ripping on a BMW M3. Jesus, don't you know they are the greatest cars ever made.

The new 5.0 is a pretty sweet set up car. If it was my money though, I'd find a 2000 Cobra R. Someting I have actually thought about doing. The 2000 was actaully set up for the track from the factory, and had IRS, a nice big torquey motor, and a bunch of the unneccesary stuff removed. They didn't make many of them, so they are still holding their value pretty well, but I have always thought that owning one would make a great DE car. Something I don't want to do in the 911, as the potentially for uber expensive repairs just looms on the horizon everytime I think about it.

And yes, I have had more than a few Mustangs in the past. My family has had BMW's as well.

I agree with the original poster. I don't buy a car for what others think, I buy one for what I want to do with it, and what I feel like at the time. I am currently rebuilding the front end of this, to make is my daily driver. Yep, its a big block American Iron car.

Do you have any video? I have heard good things about that track.

I run mostly high speed tracks--Seattle, Spokane, and Portland. My Lotus Exige, which was killer in the turns, was no contest on the straights, so I could no longer run with my buddies.YouTube - Lotus Exige at Spokane Raceway Park
So I sold it and went back to running my Frankenstein 944/968 track car, which can run with most things.YouTube - Porsches at VIR

Saw a number of them in a recent autocross. Here was an instructor's car.

The latest Motortrend showed up at my office and I was suspecting the Mustang to get toasted. Wrong!!

Well, looks like BMW has to up the ante a little for their next model.

Looks to me like a 2015 may be a good time to get a new daily driver - made in 2011.

George
