anyone ever own a Honda CT 70?

i think this is what my neighbor has. she offered it to me for a mere $300. i remember it was pretty faded, but very cherry. anyone ever have one of these? my co-worker says they can be street legalized. seems like a simple restoration.

something like this:

BuY IT! BUY IT!

Dad paid 700 for a cherry one that ran a little rough ~5 yrs ago. They are very well loved amongst the RV guys.

I do not like the riding position on them at all, but they are nearly bulletproof, pretty sure footed, and very good to take camping, hunting, to the track etc....

Buy it, my Uncle John got one of those for running up to the store, then moved up to a CB 400 when the 70 was not enough. That little 70 ran forever though, fun little bike

Get it! I just finished restoring A monkey 50 ( in progress pic ) . Yes they can be street legal. All parts are readily available ( 1973 Honda CT70K2 OEM Parts, 1973 Honda CT70K2 OEM Motorcycle Parts - BikeBandit.com ) and it makes a great little project.

I have wanted one of those since it was new:eek:

There is a pretty nice Chinese clone out pretty cheap, but just not the same.. A buddy of mine collects them too..

If you want to sell it to me for a profit, PM me. I'd like a little bike to carry on the Westy Vanagon.

Just a note - they made two models. 1st is auto clutch w/3 speed 2nd was 4 speed/manual
The four speeds are more desirable and worth more $$ (more fun!)

If it's real and not a Chi Com knockoff, I'd be all over that like a bad rash for $300.

I've wanted one ever since I was a little kid.

Saw two on eBay selling for $800 the other day.

one of my earliest memories was a matched pair of these (lime green) sitting in our living room...dad liked to drink and buy stuff.
