I don't know about that bi-lateral morphine stuff, but can I have a swig of that Paulaner Marzen?

![]() NONE of this is OTC like the OP asked about. Like I said on the OTC, take what seems to work best for you(within safe limits), and always talk to your doctor and/or Pharmacist if you have any questions. |

MD's here may take exception to this, but it seems the US population is hooked on drugs that only treat the symptoms (pain, etc.). For example: My brother takes medicine to offset the symptoms (pain) of gout. Of course, he could modify his diet that causes it in the first place, but he doesn't because he prefers his red meat. Many drug therapies fall into that category. The downside includes side-effects. The pattern continues by taking other drugs that offset the symptoms of the first drug, and so on.

I rarely take anything stronger than aspirin, work kinda gets in the way.
That said, have taken nothing but aspirin for years now and no issues with stomach or upper GI issues. Just not a tylenol or motrin person, aspirin seems to work fine. Joe A BTW, Sister and family owned and ran a drug store for only 40 years or so. I still took aspirin...

The only pain med that my liver specialist will let me take is OTC Aleve (Naproxen) for gout pain. It is very effective but he said to be careful about how much I take, no more than 1 220mg tab per 12 hours...

For factual info about medications and dosages, please reference a current PDR.
One might be available at your local library or there is an online sight.

Careful with the ibuprofen in large quantities. Lots of people eat them like bacon bits, only to discover they have blown out their kidneys a few years down the line.
