How would you feel, daughter pose for Playboy

Not my daughter, this is a hypothetical question. I looked at some of the pics in the various threads that we had here and wondered. I think that most of us would be very unhappy if it was Hustler or some other hard core mag, so I thought that I'd try to make it as innocuous as possible but in the same theme.

How would you feel if you had a young teen/adult daughter who announced that she was going to pose nude for Playboy?

Too, is it a definite answer, or was it more like "oh, that wouldn't be so bad" and then you started thinking about it in more depth and changed your mind.

Just curious if we've got any free spirits or if there are any of us that are less inhibited than others.

If she was going to pose and she couldn't be stopped I would not look at the photos.

If it were only for the money because she was poor, I'd be worried. But if she were an exhibitionist at heart, was already into modeling and wanted to stick to that line of work, why would I tell her no? I doubt Jenna Jameson is doing what her parents dreamt of her growing up to be. But she loves her work, is on top of the biz and makes gazillions of dollars. What's wrong with that?

I would pay my daughter more then the magazine would not to do it, but don't tell her!!

ask her for a loan for another p-car.

If she is even contemplating it I don't see that you would have a choice, she already has that mindset.

My daughter is only 10, but I am considering just locking her up in her room for the next 25 years.

Well for starters, those "daddy issues" become "Rick Lee issues" to the rest of the world when its YOUR daughter! :p

Times have changed. I wouldn't think anything about it. I know several families that have live in boyfriends or boys that stay over sleeping in the girl's room. This would not have happened in my house 20 years ago, but I would care less today. I'd be more concerned about who did the dishes.

Really? That's ridiculous.

and it won't happen in my house when my girls are old enough to date. It's more a question of respect for the parents, and having some tact.

As for the original question, in my mindset these days I'd be on the fence. I haven't actually read a Playboy in years (decades, really, since I was a pre-teen, probably), but my memory is that it's fairly tasteful. But I reserve the right to change my mind when my girls are older :)

Would the proud dads here show your daughter's nudie pics to your buddies, or email them around? I'm thinking, no.

VaSteve 10-03-2010 06:01 PM

Steve, Didn't you work in a strip joint for a while? I'm sure you have some tales....

How old we talking here?

Out of high school.. yea alright. Still in school? holy friggin no.

I would have only dreamed of being able to knowingly sleep with my high school girlfriend at her parents place. Instead we had to sneak in and out... :)

Our neighbors allow this for thier highschool daughter. I do not approve, but she is not my daughter.

M.D. Holloway 10-03-2010 08:14 PM

That would mean I (we) did a pretty poor job at raising her. If it ever happened I guess I would do what any other Dad in my situation would do, see if I could get an invite to the mansion, hang with some of her playmate friends.

True story. A very good friend of mine's parents used to buy him booze when he was a teenager so he could get his younger sister's friends liquored up and have his way with them.

epbrown 10-03-2010 11:18 PM

Actually, it's a sign of how old I am getting that often when I see the chick threads, I often think "Damn - that's someone's daughter." It's worse on car forums with a younger demographic, where kids post pics girls have sent them via cameraphone (always from bathrooms or messy bedrooms). If I had a daughter engaging in such shenanigans or posing for Playboy, I'd wonder where I went wrong, I guess.

I've got two sisters, though, and from talking to them I know teen girls are always up to much more than we want to know. (Driving home at 2 a.m. recently, I saw a teenage girl climbing out her 2nd floor bedroom window and creeping along the roof!). They're both smugly pleased about having all boys, ;)
