That's the coolest thing I've seen in a long time.

Excellent idea.

I can see the need for that but I can also see how the normal door is here to stay. Then again, the normal car key got lost in the world of gadgets so who really knows.

I can see a lot of crap collecting in the bottom of those things. They'll be fun in the p!ssing rain too.

Not putting miles on your car is like not having sex with your girlfriend, so she'll be more desirable to her next boyfriend.

I think it would be better if it went above the roof than below the car - IMO.

yea very cool. but it adds to yet another thing that'll fail. my dad's minivan motorized doors failed and u had to use alot of effort to slide the door...but at least you're sliding. if this door motor ever fails, you have to lift like 40 pounds of door and lock it up top.

i'll still wait for force field doors.

You get dings in your door when the other guy (or his retarded children) slams his door open into yours.

In 1991 while in Munich, We met an engineer at BMW that had a test car and my wife and I went for a brisk ride in it. I remember it was a coupe and the doors would retract even at 250 KPH.

The idea is not new, BMW had this on the Z1 ( produced from March 1989 to June 1991) The doors in the OP are more evolved tho.

We have them over here, but they're pretty rare.
