STUPID RAIN!!! PCA color tour today

It figures.

ChemMan and I have been planning the driving route/dinner, scheduled for today, for our PCA club for the past 8 months.

It's been raining all night.

Yeah, yeah, the cars won't melt but it just isn't as much fun as if it were a nice, sunny day.

Ok, I am done ranting.

Gotta go slather some more RAIN-X on the 911.

We've got a fall tour on sunday.
The rains have finaly ended here but they've taken most of the leaves off the trees.
Just got done putting new sneakers on the back so i'm going to go see how squirley they are.
Hope the sun shines on you.

We had some of the SEM folks show up today.

Although the weather sucked, it seems that everyone had a good time.

Glad I fixed the defroster earlier this year.

Yup, the weather sucked around here too all day! Sorry I couldn't make it, but it sounds like the turn out was pretty good. Randy said he'd be there, did he make it? I'll see him tomorrow at our MST color cruise if it's not raining...

Yeah, Randy ran with us for the first leg but booked as it started raining harder.

As much as I want to be there in the am tomorrow, it ain't gonna happen. Maybe next Sunday, though.

That's too bad he didn't stay. After it's wet and dirty ya might as well stick with it.. It's weird that maybe we'll get together at the end of the driving season. Better late than never I guess. Maybe next year we can do more stuff as I'll have more free time.

Post pics if you got 'em, I'd like to see what I missed out on..

Wayne,
Thanks for the great day! We had a nice (albeit rainy) drive, then an excellent dinner and good times with other Porsche folk. We had a spirited drive home down I-75, to US23, then to I-94 and it rained lightly, but nothing to slow us down. The defroster and heater came in handy but the car really needs a good cleaning now! Thanks again for a very enjoyable Saturday afternoon/evening, we really appreciate your efforts in organizing this event! I'll post some pics later this week...

That's great news, might even make up for our rainy day.

FYI: I need some front tires if I'll be driving in the rain again, pass the word on.

I want to buy (2) 205-50R-15 Yokohama AVS ES100 tires.

As you may know when you went to replace yours, they are no longer made. I'm hoping somebody has decided or will decide to upgrade to a newer tire. On my car the front and rear tires wear at different rates so there might be a pair out there.

Mine are bald (on the front), anything would be an improvement (50% thread left is okay), help an unemployed guy out. I'm located in SE Michigan and can pick up anything within a day trip driving distance.

I don't see how to register for the run on-line, so I sent Gary an e-mail.

How do you "register"?

Color Tour

If anyone is interested in attending feel free to email me at

gla924sem@juno.com

The info on the Color Tour is located in our P4 which is posted on the web site.

Southeast Michigan Porsche Club of America (SEM/PCA)

Scroll down till you see the October P4 link and click on it. Look through the pdf file for the page the tour is listed on.

Tour will gather around noonish in Ann Arbor and travel to the Irish Hills for a cider& donut stop in a unique location. Afterward we'll travel back to Ann Arbor for dinner at a local German Resturant.

Dinner will be ordered off the menu. Typical meals range from $15-$22 pending what you order plus beverage & tip.

We are asking for $3/person to cover the cider & donuts. A collection container will be out at the stop in the Irish Hills.

Some real great roads on the tour.

SEM's web site is NOT set up to register on for these type of events.....yet

You need to register with me to get the starting location.

Cool. Thanks for posting that, Art. I just came in from waxing it. shhh

Helga looked great as well. The paint really needs to be seen in person to fully appreciate the full effect.

The weather looks pretty good for the SEM run Sunday. Sunny and in the 70's.

2 things of note:

1. Our pics did not turn out but we are trying to get them un-fuzzy. I'll post the best ones.

2. KFC DOES NOT HAVE COFFEE OR HOT CHOCOLATE!!!!

The weather was perfect.
We couldn't lock in a sitter in order to do the SEM run but I did take my daughter for a nice color tour of our own around the Oxford area.

Ended up at a nice park in Frankenmuth for a picnic lunch.

We took a nice drive on Saturday, then visited the in-laws on Saturday and took the car. Great weekend for a Targa!

It's fall in Michigan so that means fall color runs though the countryside. Unfortunately these organized events are planed months in advance, so the weather is what it is.

The RSR (Rally Sport) PCA group two weeks ago was cold, wet and gray. This is my regular group I run with, we got rained out but ran anyway. This was not so fun for me, no heat and bald front tires.

My car (1977 - silver) and Art's (1974 - red).

Some cool cars there:

Two weeks later the SE Michigan Porsche club made it's run through the Irish Hill to Michigan International Speedway (MSI) for some cider and donuts. You could not ask for better weather, warm and sunny with the top off.
