Ex gave up alimoney!!!!
Sweet @$%^@%$^!!!!! Today is my lucky day.
Just got off the phone with my lawyers office, my ex  has given up on her alimony.Let the doves fly and start the disco music, I'm having a party tonight!!!!!

Congrats. In November I will make the last of my "spousal maintenance" (Washington's equivalent of alimony) payments. There will be laughter and gaity and celebration.

My ex remarried and didn't want to give up the Alimony! It took 5 months to get it ended and the d@mn court didn't make her pay me back!!!

I admit total ignorance on this one, but don't you have to be found "at fault" for the divorce before you have to pay alimony? But either way, knock back a dozen and call in sick tomorrow

I had reluctantly agreed to the alimony while we were negotiating our separation papers, and NC is a no fault state. I would have gotten hammered in court due to my income. She pretty much had her BF moved in before we even had the papers signed, so we were headed to court anyway. Saved me court fees for sure.

ALIMONY??? WTF? How is that even still LEGAL? What in God's name is the legal basis for paying someone (presumably an employable adult) a stipend after your relationship ends???

My daughter divorced her 1st hubby in California...SHE had to pay alimony & all of their credit card debts.
