mini lost to porsche

i am sure there is another thread on here, and i did a search for "mini" but nothing came up.
anyway, its new news to me. i just saw the video of the race and mini's lame congratulations to porsche.

first, mini puts "the mighty" above their name and "fancy pants" above porsche.
then mini lost by 2 seconds on an autoX course at RA. at the end they put "thats $38,000 per second". after all, your talking about an autoX course that only took about a minute to run anyway. how much time do you expect to gain on a tight course that is that short? perhaps they should have done 10 laps so the time could open up enough. then it would have only been $3800 per second.

if they lost they lost. to put a price (which we new it would come down to that) on losing is insulting after all the badgering they did to get a race. why couldnt mini just come out and say congratulations, you won, and leave it at that?
hey mini, maybe you should go hound corvette, you might actually beat them. then what would you say? would it still come down to price?

i guess this shows the class of porsche vs mini. after all, i have not seen anyone brag about beating a mini.

The funniest thing about the entire thing is Hyundai challenged Mini. Mini did not accept.

it says a lot for porsche. to beat a mini on an autoX course AND go out on the big trck and be very fast.

However, I beat a mini today! On my Motorcycle even...

Even better, Porsche told them from the get-go that they don't do publicity stunts and that they're happy to meet Mini on the field of battle in any sanctioned competition that happens every weekend at every track in the country. Porsche spoke their peace and that was the end of it from their perspective.
Some random dude steps up and volunteers his car and kicks the crap out of the Mini. Nice.

That was not a Porsche sanctioned race. Porsche had refused (ignored maybe?) Mini the race opportunity. Seems like someone just picked up on it and carried out the race.

corey has a 997 he races. both drivers seemed professional about the whole thing, too bad the head of mini was not as professional. except the mini driver said it was too dangerous to drive on the big track.

the video i saw had "at $38,000 per seocond" at the end.

i started a thread about my alram clock being too bright, who would have thought there were already several on the subject.

mini may think it is $38k per second, but you would be lapped about every 35 laps, or you would be lapped about 35 times over a 24hr race.

that video almost looks like a comercial FOR mini
