It is a cool machine. I got to see it in person at Porsche Parade this year.

I saw it at the Paris auto show a few weeks ago.

a few pict's I took....

the cockpit...

the flux-capacitor....

Need the p/n for a rear PC window?

I've got to say, I was a bit disappointed when I saw all of Porsche's buying in to the hybrid hype. ...but I do like their approach.

Dunno, it led for 8 hours in the 24 hours of Nuhburgring. That's pretty notable?

It's going to alternative sources of power, why not at least start somewhere that makes sense. Dr. Porsche did design the first hybrid over 100 years ago, this concept is still relevant today, that's something pretty special. And it works, well.

In what class? What were the class restrictions? How much advantage was designed in for manipulative purposes?

This is a freaking scam designed to separate money from fools.
Hey, let's spend another $40k to save $5k worth of fuel during the life of the car. Good idea!
hey, let's create a "green" racing class to convince the fools that we're environmentally friendly.
They did the same thing with the turbo diesels, give them ever racing advantage imaginable so that when they won, the fools would think the new technology was better.

I mean really. You're not falling for this crap, are you?
Sorry to burst your fantasy bubble but look at it without emotion. Do some homework.

Oh wait, you're from Washington, never mind: hybrids, unicorns, rainbows, etc.

Hey now Sammy

Actually, your response was pretty much my internall thoughts when I approached the Porsche display at the frog auto show. But, after reflecting on what they are doing, you do need to give them kudos for confusing the hell out of greeners.

Oh, and Sammy, they also had a Cayenne hybrid there. ...a bunch batteries where the spare tire, active suspension hardware, and Bose sub-woofer would go.

...I'll keep with my other optioned 955, thank you Porsche.

Is it too late to change the title of this thread?

I'm thinking something like; Porsche 911 GT3 R - not your mother's Hybrid

I can't believe Sammy had something negative to say; that just blows my mind.

Thanks for correcting me. I think what I mean is the concept is similar, with the electric motors at the wheels.

now, now - sammy is always focused on the future

he's an innovative leader in new technologies

BTW - the things had a failure in a non-hybrid part of the car or they would likely have stomped all over the field; interesting article on the race in Excl.
