Helga is gone, but not forgotten...

Today... at her new "temporary" home...

Last weekend at the in-law's house...

Lighting makes the paint color change, it looks like a different color in every picture...

Contemplating the 1st weekend without the 911. I'll take Beth for a leisurely (hardly!) ride in the MazdaSpeed3 as long as my gout is not flaring up.

It's supposed to snow anyway, Art. You wouldn't have taken Helga out anyway.

If you get real desperate for a 911 fix, give me a shout!!

Guys,
Thanks! I would be getting the car put up for the winter anyway, but the empty garage sure is sad...

Gary,
I'll be parking the MazdaSpeed3 in it for the winter... It's too small for Beth's car.

I completely understand bringing her back to her original paint, but I prefer the red.

And it might be the photos, but I think she looks pretty good as is.

The photos look much better than the paint actually looks. I've shined up the car as much as I can, but the paint really is very shabby and a very high quality paint job , back to the original color is what I would do if I won the Lotto!

The buyer just sent me a very nice email to tell me that he got to see/drive Helga and then get her ready to be shipped back to Germany for the restoration project. I really hope he's as happy with the car as I was. I asked him to post pics of the resto project.

I'll be joining you in mid March Art. I've sold my 930 and the buyer is coming down from Canada to take it home.

It's going to be a sad day and the first time in 16 years I'm Porscheless. No plans for a replacement.

A930Rocket,
I feel your pain! I really miss Helga, but with my gout, I wouldn't be able to enjoy driving the car. No immediate plans to replace the car yet as we have other priorities right now.....

Gary,
Thanks! We may still attend P2O, maybe drive my brother-in-law's 944 down there. I'll have to see how that clutch pedal is on the 944.

As a fellow gout sufferer, I hope you are getting it under control.

It took me an incorrectly diagnosed torn minscus (sic) in my knee and arthroscopic surgery to figure what what was the problem, then a year of no red meat and different medications to get me straighten out.

I hope you'll have another Porsche soon.

Guys,
Thanks for the advice! I drink tart cherry juice concentrate in my 3 liters of water daily, take 300mg of Allopurinol a day and my gout still flares up regularly and lets me know it's still there! I will have my SUA retested next Friday and see where I am now. I started at 6.5 and hopefully, I'm down from that level (before the Allopurinol). I only eat chicken or fish once a week, no alcohol of any kind, no high fructose corn syrup, no junk food, etc... I'm doing my best to fight this!

Hey Art... if there have been updates on Helga's makeover, I missed them. What's the latest?
